DustFalcon1985: I've downloaded this System.Shock.2-MODs.v1.1-GOG.com.zip. Problem is installing the mods is complex and I'm concerned that I'm gonna screw the installation of those mods up. So will there be a patch that includes the SS2Tool_v5.0.exe and the mods like ADaoB, SHMUP, SHTUP, and the like into one big .exe? It'll save time and the hassle of installing those mods one by one w/o fearing that you'll screw the installation of those mods up. I'd appreciate it!
Luckmann: What? I am not sure what file that is, but all the mods are literally drag-and-drop into the proper folder. You cannot possibly fail at that. How is that "complex"? O_o
There's one part in the readme.txt file in the ADaoB that has the line:
1) Make sure you have configured your System Shock 2 installation to use
resources in the "res" subdirectory.
a) Create a new folder inside the "shock2" folder and name it "res".
b) Move all the files ending in ".crf" to the "res" folder.
c) Open up "install.cfg" from the "shock2" folder using notepad.
d) Alter the "resname_base" line to point to the new folder. For example:
resname_base c:\games\shock2\+d:\shock2\
^
would become
resname_base c:\games\shock2\res\+d:\shock2\
^^^^
e) Save the file!
That part of the "install.cfg" IIRC. I was having trouble finding that directory line. The c:\games\shocks\+d:\shock2\ was nowhere near in sight, although I put it in my own directory: c\games\gog\system shock 2.
UPDATE: Looks like I'm gonna have to wait till the modmanager gets released or the new version of SS2Tool or whatever.
