Should I just enjoy the unlimited lives, or will it come and haunt me later in the game?
This question / problem has been solved by Vyraexiiimage
Yes.
in game effects prolly not as long as you convert the medstations to revive on the level before you die

irl i guess to many time would drive a man to insanity (if the tech existed that is )

Thank you. I was just worried there was a limit or something. Wouldn't want to end up without it when I need it most. This way I can play more freely without interruptions and worrying about reloading when I die for a stupid reason.

The revive mechanic is integrated in the game lore, if you fail to revert the cyborg convertion process then once you die you'll become shodan's pet robot.
It would be more immersive if shodan would detect that you flipped the switch and then send a little bot just to flip it back but I guess the devs decided on favoring us humans :)
