Forgive me if it seems a stupid question, but I'm new at these games ... while you are exploring do you need to find food and water as well in order to drink and eat?

Thanks in advance!

Roberto
Nope.
Food items in SS2 just give you a point of health when consumed. That's all.

Alcohol gives you a point of health and takes away a point of psi.

Cigs take away a point of health.

Cigarettes are useless then. Unlike Metal Gear Solid, it just decreases your health (in MGS they are useful to see the IR beams. it saved my neck a few times).
Yes, thank you for pointing out that an item that does nothing but decrease your health is useless.

Din't they actually increase your PSI by 1 or something? Or am I thinking of Bioshock here?

Edit: words. They don't work well with me.

That might have been something SecMod did.
they do increase psi in some of the mods (secmod, I believe).

Ah, you're welcome! :)

Jerk.

Edit: What I was trying to say, that the genius above didn't understood, was that they could have done something useful in the cigarettes (I even gave a example, but he was too busy being a moron, to use his brain for a minute).

Funny how terrible communication skills are always the other guy's problem.

IIRC Cigarettes can be used in the recycler to gain some nanites, so they can have some use, but as an item in this game - yes they are useless.

Tony.

That, and it's kind of funny the first time you use them and realize that they have no benefits.

On a related note, my roommate once decided to smoke something like 6 packs of cigarettes at once in Deus Ex. As soon as he exited the inventory, JC Denton collapsed into a lung-less heap.
