Marvin: And what context would that be?
I think he's saying they never actually said they weren't using the fan patches. That they kinda implied they used them then did some stuff on top of it. But That doesn't really hold up when you take into account Voodoo's claim that they did nothing but use 4.0.
I really don't care for credits. I was just teasing all who are butthurt about credits. Big deal. They should be proud that the patch is used by so many loving fans of SS2 .
Wait, isn't it a reason they made a patch in first place. And did you bought SS2 because of patch or SS2? You wouldn't buy it if it isn't patched?

Marvin: I did, but I haven't gotten an answer yet.
Fair enough. Since it's close to the weekend, you may not get a response until next week.

It's nice to outright state you're trolling so people can ignore your comments from the start. You seem to be clueless about the actual issue discussed here.

Well if you're a fan of euphemisms, I guess "pointing the way" would count.

So much drama over a patch released by an ANONYMOUS source FOR FREE, and some chest-pounding by GoG.

Kolya is not anonymous, please read the OP.
These "White Knights" Are pathetic. Really? Getting butthurt about credits? Thankfully most people dont care and are purchasing this despite drama mongering.

Unless any of you are actually modders involved who have had your 'work stolen", you have no business whining and telling people not to buy SS2.
Donated to SystemShock-dot-org because I think they deserve it. I also think that those who worked on this release should have been considered & contacted before hand. Who gets paid for what is a separate issue.

I bought the game, I still want GOG to come clear about this. As for white knighting - isn't that what you're doing just now for GOG, hmm?

Well, it would be nice if you say also, that you are trolling, like you said on RPGCodex:

You are accusing them for methods and end effect that works delusional similar like some fan patch which in fact is not necessary to be, unless they will state otherwise.

Hehe, no, that's just Infinitron's weird sense of humour. I don't own an account on RPGCodex. I guess he mistook my comment on SMA stating that I opened a thread abnout this issue with him being the origin of that suggestion. You can compare the time stamps however and see that this thread is older than Infinitron's post on SMA. :)

Besides, even if this thread was instigated by an angry 4chan mob, this does not change anything about the present situation or the factual evidence.

Im pointing out how stupid some people are, not white knighting, the fact is people getting butthurt have no idea what the authors of these patches think, they are probably like timeslip and dont care if gog uses their work, so this is unnecessarily drama mongering.
I think no one can defend GOG or Night Dive at the moment, unless they're willing to shed some light. It's just a basic etiquette to give credit where it's due. It's same for every community. I've been on several sports game mods community, they have zero tolerance on "stealing" other people's work even the tiniest little thing like club logos and badges. The modders didn't get paid, at the very least they could ask is a little recognition as a token of appreciation.

The discussion has been quite civil so far so I sugesst to keep it that way unless you want this statement to be a self fulfilling prophecy.
