Hi all,

Doesn't it feel really hard to read all the PDA/texts when running on high resolution (I am on 1680x1050 here and every time I read I move head a few centimeters to the screen) ? Any possibility to make the HUD scale a little ? I would even sacrifice HUD sharpness just to be able to read my PDA and item descriptions with some comfort.

If anyone has an idea, let me know.

Many thanks!

After a bit trying of trying different resolutions I added this line to the cam_ext .CFG in the main game directory:

d3d_disp_scaled_2d_overlay 960 600

Now I can read texts just fine. Somehow also the additional bonus is that the game got a bit more nostalgic feel to it. ;)
Thank you so much. The game is perfect now :D
It's really hard for me to read the small text/HUD, so for someone using 1920x1080 what fix should I use and any particular line in the CFG should I put that to fix it?
look at the link I've posted. and the post right after that. or try adding

d3d_disp_scaled_2d_overlay 960 540

into your cam_ext.cfg (that should double the hud size for this particular resolution).
Does that replace any line or can it go anywhere?

That line is already in there in the file cam_ext.cfg. You will have to un-comment that line for it to work. That is, remove the ; at the start of the line.

I've tried uncommenting "d3d_disp_scaled_2d_overlay 640 480," but it doesn't seem to actually make a difference. Everything is still displayed really tiny at 1280x1024. Is there something else I need to do?

I can't imagine why it's not working for you.
Actually, I'm not using that line for my setup. That line made the hud too big for my tastes. So I used the one above that, d3d_disp_scaled_2d_overlay 64.
You might try that one until somebody like voodoo47 can help you further. Don't forget to recomment d3d_disp_scaled_2d_overlay 640 480 because I would guess that you can only use one at a time.
no, that should be enough. make sure you are not running the dx6 safemode.

Herp derp. I was changing the wrong file. I was editing the one in the doc folder instead of the one in the main directory :P
