How do you recruit new team members?

I've used the persuadotron on civilians to no gain, and I can't get it to work on cops. I can't get close enough to try on other agents.
As per page 29 of the manual in the GOG extras, you have to persuade enemy agents so that those agents become your own.

Pages 47 and 48 then explain how the persuadertron works. It is a point based system dependent on the level of brain mod that your agent with the persuadertron has.

Persuaded civilians are worth 1 point.
Persuaded guards are worth 3 points.
Persuaded police are worth 4 points.
Persuaded enemy agents are worth 32 points.

(so if you have 4 civilians and a guard you have 7 points).

Brain mod 0 (not fitted)
Civilians can always be persuaded.
Guards need you to have 4 points.
Police need you to have 8 points.
Agents need you to have 32 points.

Brain mod v1
Civilians can always be persuaded.
Guards need you to have 2 points.
Police need you to have 4 points.
Agents need you to have 16 points.

Brain mod v2
Civilians can always be persuaded.
Guards need you to have 1 point.
Police need you to have 3 points.
Agents need you to have 11 points.

Brain mod v3
Civilians can always be persuaded.
Guards need you to have 1point.
Police need you to have 2 points.
Agents need you to have 8 points.

Oh, and lastly, the manual says that only persuaded agents get added to your cryo chambers, but you do get paid for any other persuaded personnel if they survive to the end of the mission, so get persuading!

Hope this helps. And manuals are helpful. :)
Thanks, I was having trouble downloading the manual for some reason, and I couldn't find anything online. I appreciate it!!

No worries. Sometimes the GOG games actual install a copy of the manual inside the installation folder so you may actually have it without realising it.
By the way, recruiting can save you quite some money in the beginning since enemy agents may be fitted with better mods than your agents. So in a short mission in may be a good idea to persuade all enemy agents and then check if they have good mods. This can save you a lot of credits :)
lol, maybe i should read the manual. played and beat the game long ago, never read it though. i guess i would learn more stuff
2 civilians, 2 police officers and 2 agents, if they don't die and you have brain v3 you can persuade anybody.

But dont forget to not persuade objectives supposed to be assasinated because you can't harm them after that, only police, guards and no-persuaded agents or some explosion. Also don't even try persuade objective who is supposed to act independently because after that is mission-breaking and all you need after that in worst case is withdrawn from mission by escape and restart it again.

If all cryo chambers are filled with crappy mods/equipment/agents and no place to new better ones you can make them killed in action.

I see is hardest to accquire female agents as most of them are always male, 75% world map completed and I still have only Bush, Jones, Snelling as female. I try if possible to capture that female agent in Yukon as I wanted team of terminatrixes from beginning. ;-)

EDIT. Pffft, just got male Brazzier even though it was female agent...
