Hello Mike and welcome to GOG!

I thought Syndicate Wars was an awesome game. Never understood why some people felt it wasn't as good as the original. For me it was better in every way. The weapons were much more purpose specific, there were tanks and more varied enemies, you could actually rotate the map to see behind buildings and there was more of a meta game with robbing banks and such for funding. I guess the biggest problem with it now would be the maximum resolution of 640x480, which I remember on my P166 was achieving around 15 FPS if I was lucky...

I loved Syndicate Wars and wish there was a real (unofficial) sequel to the game. Would love to kickstart something like that.

SWARS was not only my favourite Syndicate, it was my favourite game, period, for years.
3D models, shiny cars, exploding buildings and the mother-EFF-ing nuclear grenade... ahh, those were the days...

New York is still a pain in the arse to finish, tho...

Syndicate Wars was one of my favorite games when I was a kid. So many good times (and frustrations too) when I played this game.

Ironically, recently I discovered you could play as the Church of the New Epoch.

Syndicate for me was, is and will always be the cyberpunk masterpiece. Even though the game is fairly simple once you understand all of the systems in play, there is a lot of style in that little game. Especially if you read the briefings. Kudos Mr. Diskett. I hope my work will have as profound of an effect as yours had on me.
