Hi guys,

We've uploaded a s,all language fix for Syberia II. This update adds a missing registry entry and videos will now be correctly dubbed depending on what language version is used instead of always playing in English.

Thanks and have a nice day :)

I do not see the update. I get the same installer version and no patch installer.

I didn't put it with the English version since the English version works as intended. This is a fix meant for the non-English versions of the game. You can access it by using the drop down menu in your account and selecting a different language than English :)
I was right about to contact support, as this language issue we've been fumbling at the last days looked pretty much like a bug. Lo and behold, there's a patch and it works perfectly (tested on the Italian version).
Thanks guys.
I'm a bit disappointed, because I mailed this bug years ago, and I was told "this is the game like we got it from the developer" or something like that. So there was simply no one able to simply take a look at this book.

But good that this has been fixed at least....

What's the cylinder video issue and have you sent a Support ticket about this so we can investigate it?

Great! I bought both Syberia games a time ago on Steam and Syberia 2 had the same mistake. I found a workaround which basically remuxed the video files and made a guide for it. I've never been able to fix this correctly by myself. So because of both games being DRM-free on sale here on GOG this weekend (the Steam versions are DRM'd) I decided to see here if GOG has fixed this known bug - and they had. Good work GOG, I guess I may have to buy those games a second time where I should have bought them the first time :)
sorry ... my reply was for another thread

You can also manually set the entries in the Windows registry.

Original post
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=358598391

This only sets the correspondig language audio track of video sequences (like the intro video) in the subfolder videos (The videos contain multiple language tracks). It does not affect the game language itself.

Example
So if you have the English version of Syberia II and set the language in the registry to French the game itself will remain in English language while video sequences will play the French audio track.

Available Languages
DE
EN
ES
FR
IT

For Windows 32 Bit
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microids\Syberia DVD]
"Language"="FR"

For Windows 64 Bit
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microids\Syberia DVD]
"Language"="FR"

Very nice we can set so many things using registry . many things can be set/changed/fixed by using the registry.
Anyway the "problem"is thats not what the registry was meant for ', when we need solutions 99% always refer to the registry , problems with some app under win 10: use this setting (blabalabala ( this would be the info needed to fix it using the registry).

Google has tons of ''solutions'' that involve using the registry varying from simple game settings to win 10 related problems .... just Google and google will show the relevant links.

Once again that is not what the registry is for , if and when it is win 10 related M$ should fix it we paid for it and they ought to solve it.

Anyway i dont go fixing bought games using whatever 'tips we can fins using whatever links or search engines that is what support is specialized in.... they can help fix it.
