Nemo: you're kinda brave to use those right? :)

Yes, I am :) Don't wory, I have custom cooling solution, just wanted to say that game can be played on Win 7 x64 with newer drivers.
I am using 195.81, and that's as new as it gets for my video card.. I tried disabling PhysX and that didn't help.
Maybe the game just doesn't like my notebook? The The Longest Journey didn't work either.
I guess I'll just have to suffer through the more modern games in my collection like BFBC2, Bioshock2, ME2, Batman-AA, and the rest of the 100+ games in my Steam account, and 200+ games sitting on shelves around my house. My system just isn't GOG compatible.
Hi Guys, just writing to say that I too was getting the crash at the bridge but after updating my video drivers to v197.13 the problem has been fixed. As a side note I was also able to get patch 3 installed although I did have to change the registry slightly.

Before you do anything, BACK UP the registry (see below). Proceed with caution and realise that you do so at your own risk. I take no responsibility for any damage caused.
To install the patch, Google 'Syberia patch' I found patch version 3 on GamersHell but when I tried to install it I was prompted with a 'Syberia is not installed' error. To fix that you need to add a string at the following location in your registry.
HKey_Local_Machine/Software/Wow6432Node/Microids/Syberia
What you need to do is create a string key called ‘CurrentPath’ without the quotes, that points to your install directory. If you are unsure, look under HKey_Local_Machine/Software/Wow6432Node/Microids/Syberia/1.0.0.23 and you will see the string value CurrentPath, this just needs to be copied up a level.
Hope this helps :)

Just posting to confirm that the 197.13 drivers did indeed solved all the flickering model issues for me.

Nemo: finally got it working :), just installed new 197.13 drivers and wadya know, it no longer crashes, also flickering is gone (even with forced supersampling + anizo). Seems it has major issues only with certain recent nvidia driver versions.....

my mistake :S

A crash or a freeze + prompt for a DVD?
If it's the voice cylinder issue, check this thread
Updated nVidia drivers sorted it out for me (why??).
Played perfectly all the way through, then crashed on the final cutscene (I assume - outside the Spa resort, cutscene worked until she started running back from the aeroplane. Assume I'm not missing much, but gaaah!)

I get model flickering big time. Basically the game is unplayable because of that after the attic scene. And I can't upgrade to newer nvidia drivers, because I have a laptop with ATI graphics (which already runs the latest AMD/ATI drivers).
