And the thing is it's obvious that *not much work and efforts and expense is required.* GOG lists this game as fully compatible with Windows 10 and sells it that way--and while that may have been the case when Win 10 was new--a couple of years ago--and with *a lot of workaround effort expended*--it's no longer the case at all. The game has never worked with Win10 ROOB. GOG, you are selling the game as fully compatible with Win10--it isn't, and it actually never has been (see workarounds that used to work to some degree but no longer do.) Indeed, at various places within these threads I have also contributed my workaround experience to get the game working with Win10--I was glad to to do that--but the game simply doesn't work with Win10 any longer--my original workarounds included, sorry to say.

Please, exercise just a bit of due diligence and make the changes necessary in the configuration files for the game to run properly with Windows 10, just as GOG claims to prospective buyers is the case! It's the right thing to do for your customers and in my view it isn't "optional"--you've got to do it otherwise the claims GOG makes about the game running under Win10 are false.

Gog is usually top notch about looking after its customers--This could be taken care of in a day or less by simply putting the right people on it. Hope to see it fixed soon! Thanks for listening to your customers...!

Please be advised that Windows 10 operating system will receive frequent hardware driver and software updates following its release; this may affect game compatibility
from the Syberia store page.

As far as i know before i even got my Win 10 laptop, it has said this ever since they started supporting and reworking old games for Win10.
They have never said FULLY supporting Win10
you are selling the game as fully compatible with Win10
you said that, GoG never.

So it never works with Win10 -that's what you said?

Yet here i am playing dozens of Win10 games and 195 from GoG alone that work fine other than that fact my Acer Aspire E5-573G laptop display is 1366x768, so i have some widescreen issues that some mods have fixed.
It is probably a driver,hardware/codec issue along with Win10 on your machine that is causing an issue/conflict.

Win10 is a pile of $hit and i still have and use Win 7 64 bit on my custom built machine and will untill i can't.
I played Syberia 1 on both my laptop (acer aspire v nitro) and my desktop pc with windows 10 before the creators update.
now both machines got the update and the game still works fine.

I'm running the Insider's builds of Win10x64, now on build 16199, and that's where the trouble is, I've found. Some games that would run fine on an earlier build--the creator's update, for instance--now no longer do. So I have to at least partially retract my request for GOG as this is really strictly a Microsoft issue--Feedback for the Insider's builds of the OS is full of complaints of games not running because of the new "Game Modes(s)" that Microsoft is putting into the next versions--these actually attach dlls to the game executables, believe it or not. I wasn't aware of this at the time I made the original post...

I actually have only a diim recollection of making this post...odd, to say the least...Perhaps it's those pesky Venutians again--zapping me with their brain-wave equipment! Wouldn't be the first time...;)
The Game works fine on Windows 10 with the Fall Creators Update installed. No need to change anything, here.
Simply don't use beta or outdated builds of Win 10...
I get a the 3D rendering engine could not be initialized error. W10 Pro 4790K 980TI. Every thing up to date except for 2015 drivers for my vidio card. 2 and 3 seem to work fine. Got it to work on W10, Reduced resolution and bits then it worked.

Thanks...it's running fine now on Win10x64--it was just a Microsoft problem with a particular advanced build of Windows10--no problems--now running on 1709, build 17025.

All's well that ends well...;)
