Just got SWAT 4 during the Summer Sale, really good game, but I'm having a problem launching it.

It'll go through the openings...sometimes, for the first one the screen will be completley black, after that the intro screens will start popping up, showing SWAT 4's super groovy intro, then...nothing. The screen will go black again and just sit there forever.

Sometimes however I don't get far enough to see anything, and it crashes giving me this error:

I've hunted around a few forums and tried a few things. I've deleted the "Swat4.ini" file it asks me to delete, nothing. I've run it as an administrator, nothing. Made a shortcut, nothing. I'll add it into Steam as a non-steam add on, noooothing.

I reaaaally like this game and was excited to see it on GOG, but I'm starting to lose it a little here, any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks.

EDIT: Fixed the issue. Happens if you have large resolution screen (aka, normal for these days).

First, make a shortcut to the game and disable intro movies with the -nointro flag. This is required because the intro seem to skip and loop and cause havoc.

Example: "E:\Media\Games\GOG Games\SWAT 4\Content\System\Swat4.exe" -nointro

Next, open Swat4.ini and look for this:

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]

Change your Fullscreen values:

FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1080

Since the MenuViewportX and MenuViewportY also seemed to be one resolution less by default I did the same here.

MenuViewportX=1024
MenuViewportY=768

Game loaded, Win7 x64. Also running in Compatibility Mode and as Administrator for good measure.

NOTE - It CAN flash a while before hitting the main menu. And NO alt-tabbing.

Works like a charm, thanks again, really appreciate it!
No problem, happy to help out. I was bummed when I encountered it too, would've been selfish to not help others :).

I can confirm this works likes a treat.

PLEASE STICKY THIS GOG, it is vital information that isn't clear and easy to find after spending money on what is now your product, anybody should be able to find it... I mean hell roll it out as an update even.
EDIT:
(SOLVED)

SOLUTION (VIA GOG SUPPORT):

"Use the WindowsKey+P combination and use "Computer only". If this doesn't work, you need to disable the monitors in the graphics device Control Panel (right-click an empty section of your desktop to access it)."

For me it was still recognizing a second monitor, even with the cable pulled, ensure your computer is ONLY using a single monitor.

Blank screen, reverts all previous swat4.ini settings back to their defaults.

After several minutes the processes hangs and provides this information:

I've deleted the .ini file many, many times with the same results.

H0rk_: Where the fuck do i have to type -nointro?? i need help please
As stated you'll need to make a desktop shortcut.

Right-click the .exe in the game folder and select Send To -> Desktop (Create Shortcut) or similar on your OS. Then on your desktop shortcut, right-click it and select Properties. You will see in this Shortcut tab a box you can type into titled Target. Go to the end of the Target box and an extra space, then type in -nointro. Make sure you click the Apply button before closing the window.

If you already had a desktop shortcut, you can of course just modify the existing one.

Thanks
Since they're still command line arguments, I would imagine so however I do not use Galaxy, I'm afraid. You'll have to try and test that and let us all know :).
Thanks
I did all the fixes to swat ini. In gog galaxy under settings on the game tab you can add the -nointro flag in the command parameters box and it works. I use rivatuner to limit framerate to my monotors rez and it's working great now. Thanks a bunch guys.

Im on win 10 1809 didn't use the compatability mode.
