So today I was looking at getting Swat 1+2. I really enjoyed back in the day, playing Swat 1, and was reading some reviews. I came across one specific review that made me wonder:

"Owned this game years ago, couldn't play til now. Very cool game, however major flaw upon GOG release, can't save games (at least on Swat 1) DOS box issue apparently. This game requires saves. I don't recommend download unless its patched in the future. As of Feb 2011 it is broken, go to forums to see if it is patched."

So, my question here is, has the no save for Swat 1 been patched or not? Or anyone here who has Swat 1, in Windows 7 Pro, in DOSBOX, are you able to save your games or not?

I just installed SWAT 1 on my PC to check this for you, and I was able to both save and restore without any problems.

I didn't see a changelog listed for the game, so I suppose it's possible that there is an issue for some users, but I was unable to reproduce the error on my system.

I'm using Win 7 Ultimate, and I installed the game through Galaxy.

Hope this helps.

Awesome. Yes this helps me, I'll get the game, and with your feedback, things sound pretty normal.
No problem.

I looked into the issue a little more, and it appears that the save problem was caused by the GOG installer not creating certain folders in the game's directory.

It appears that GOG fixed the issue so that these folders are created during installation. It shouldn't be necessary, but if you do run into the problem, you can try to fix the issue by following the steps listed here:

Oh awesome. Thanks for the extra added info there. I haven't really had the time yet to get into the game, but the info here again certainly helps me out.
