Guys,

I'll drop support a line about this, but am wondering if anyone else finds that the game runs twice as faster after a cutscene. It's back to normal if you save and reload. The problem is that there's a cutscene before every boss, and that immediately goes into a fight where you can't save. I've had to do every boss fight at super speed, which makes chain attacks a non-option.

Anyone else?
I had this problem after crossing the bridge in Masad and fighting the hammer guy. After that i activated vsync in the options and installed the patch by timeslip. One or both of these things fixed it.
Interesting. I've done both of these things and it's not made any difference. Did you customise the settings in the patch? Perhaps you set something else in it that I need.
I edited some entries in the "dinput.dll". Namely the resolution settings, but i also disabled the console and the gold cheat key. But i don't think these in particular should have anything to do with your speed up problems.
I have this problem too. I also installed the patch and enabled vsync to no avail. After running the game with FRAPS I noticed that the frame rate massively increases after cutscenes. This must be what is causing the game to run at double speed. Turning vsync on and off seems to reset the frame rate to normal levels. This still means you will have to do it after every cutscene in order to get the game to run right. Its not pretty, but it works for now.

Nice spot, I didn't realise that actually changing it while it was sped up would fix it for that instance. I agree it's frustrating, but at least now I can use chain attacks in boss fights.

Thanks.
How fast is the game supposed to run?
I don't remember the characters running so fast back in the day, but it's not unplayable. It's just the dude runs faster than my mom drives so i hope i won't have any problems with it later in the game.

As we established, if he seems to be running really fast, you probably have the same problem. Try going to the options screen and turning Anti-Aliasing off. Then click on the tick icon to confirm, then go back in again and turn it back on again. This should cause the game to return to a sensible speed. Also, save and reload and see if that causes a difference. That would have been a good enough solution except the boss fights happen directly after a cutscene.

If it's still fast after that, it's probably as intended. As long as it's consistent throughout the game.
I've had this happen on a high refresh rate display. Be sure to set your monitor's refresh rate to 60. Solved all the issues for me.
