How to do it? The game freaks out if I try the CtrlAltDel trick and forces me to sign out of my account.
I found it was fine, until I installed the mod. I'm afraid at that point I found I could do it via Ctrl-Alt-Del, but it went into really low res, and was near unuseable.

How is it possible to uninstall the mod/you mean the game let you alt-tab?

Edit: Also, Timeslip's patch or the Summoner Mod? I be confused.

Sorry, I'm wrong. My old boxed copy allowed me to alt-tab, so I just assumed that the patch was what had stopped it. In fact I just tried installing and it does indeed not allow alt tab even with the vanilla version.

Argh! There has to be some way to do it. Maybe if I run it in windowed?

Windowed should work, I think the problem is with switching resolution of the monitor, so you should be fine that way. May I ask why you need to Alt-Tab? Is it to reference a walkthrough? If so, perhaps print it out and save yourself some bother.

Call it my crutch.

How does one do the Windowed mode? I read that there's some trick on GOG games?

I was rather hoping you had that one covered. I don't believe there is any particular GOG windowed mode setting, it's just that the dosbox ones allow it. Maybe others will know, might be worth asking in General Discussion if there's any more universal way to run a game windowed, there may well be.

I bookmarked this page: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Gorky_17#Windowed with regards to Gorky 17, not Dosbox, but haven't gotten around to trying it.
I kind of dislike it when a game locks me out of Alt-tab because I usually keep my chats open majority of the time.

1.) OK!! The best answer I have for all of you is to use D3DWINDOWER.
2.) READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE IT.
3.) Got The Summoner GOG Game to work in windowed mode. Took a little trial and error on width and height but finally got it to work perfectly windowed 4:3 aspect ratio in an 16:10 HD Monitor.

I adore you, you do know that right?

Is it safe to run the game in a larger window than 1024x768? (just curious, the game was quite finicky and violent when I tried to alt+tab previously times before this miracle)

The problem is, when I Alt-Tab back to the game it forces itself to fullscreen again.

ShadowWulfe: words
I fell across this posting when I was googling for a solution to the exact same thing. It turns out in addition to AlanOne's fix there is also a pretty solid fix over on the DXWin forums.

Anyone know how to get this to work in Windows 10?

D3DWindower doesn't seem to work at all (it dies with an error when trying to run it) and DXWnd appears to work at first, showing the Summoner Launcher and then launching a window with the DXWnd logo, but then it closes and the game never starts.
