Is there a view from the cockpit or there is only the external view?

I'm downloading as we speak, so I hope I'm not lying to you...There is a 1st person view, but from what I understand it's like freespaces cockpit view. A basic hud, but not a detailed cockpit. Also when you engage Strike mode, it switches to 3rd person. If I'm wrong about any of this feel free to correct me :-)

If you are right it is good for me ... I prefer a Freelancer like cockpit instead of the external view (I passed years playing fly simulators!!).

Take your time of course ... I'm not in a hurry ...
About the download speed for sure the GOG downloader is a lot faster than the normal download; you can really see the difference.

No, there is no cockpit camera. You can only choose between third person or first person view. In the first person view you only see the HUD, no cockpit.

There is only first person view or third person view (C button).

I think the first person view is pointless, because you can't see the transforming sequence from a ship to a robot, which is a mainfeature in this game. Maybe this is the reason why the stadart setting is set to third person view and there is no cockpit view. It's more an action shooter than a space sim.

Playing in first person, I much prefer it to third. Once you switch to Strike mode it switches you to third person temporarily.
Dificulty spikes suddenly in the third mission once the strike suit is introduced. If you're having trouble with it and haven't unlocked the shield or performance upgrads from mission 1 and 2, I'd highly recommend doing those missions again to get them, makes it a bit easier.
