Be censored much, again? Like Streets of Rage 2 VS Bare Knuckle II sprites/animations and Streets of Rage 3 VS Bare Knuckle III entire story, alteration of NPCs and editing out of playable characters and boss enemies?

Is this title going to be an overseas woke parody again, or a legit, original beat em up of Japanese creation, full of creativity (fanservice) and good old goodness?

With the devs and publisher being French and independent this should be and is not an issue. At least from what I can tell.

Blaze's SoR4 character design alone is a good indicator that they're not overly concerned about current day political correctness.

Thanks for the reply. Still though, i am gonna skip the damn thing. Compared against the FREE fangame, this is kind of a disgrace to SOR, really.

Not even all old players are unlockable. There is no running. Content is minimal, be it enemy types, boss types, playable characters, stages and story branching paths. There are no options for weapons to set them after Sor1/2/3 style, they stick with the plain old annoying "weapon disappears after being used" and not only after taking damage.

Soundtrack is mediocre at best, nothing shattering or memorable, like old times, or even the unofficial Remake's Remix.

I played it for a bit pirated and its pretty damn lame. Sticking with the fangame for good. The latter has free editor, which allows the creation of mods, each one of them being like an entire new game, with endless possibilities and huge community support.

This one right here is flashy, sketchy, boring. It's not censorship that ruined the title, like Streets of Rage 3, but all limitations in gameplay mechanisms, options and whatnot. Sega should sell the Bombergames game, period.-

Yes, there is, but only some characters can run. Just use SOR3 characters, Skate from SOR2, or Cherry if you want to run. They have 4+ stars for speed.

You can regrab some weapons to re-use them... But yes, it's more SOR1/SOR2 than SOR3.

I like the soundtrack but you can switch to a "retro soundtrack" in the options.

I actually bought it, because the developer wrote in forums that future DLC will come. Maybe they will add the rest of the players. Still though, their game is too lame, especially when compared against Fangame and previous titles. And story is stupid, really. And because that way, by showing interest/support, Sega might ultimately consider more remakes, like Golden Axe, that hopefully won't suck @$$ contrary to dedicated fangames.

I bought their Wonder Boy remake as well, but that was actually pretty good.

Don't think that beat 'em up stories are very intelligent... :-) Final Fight, Double Dragon, TMNT... That's all crap concerning the story. But is THIS really important?

their game is too lame
Then stick wiht SoR Remake...

Of course it is. Previous SOR games had quite the story. In 3 there were radioactive bombs and the general was kidnapped, for example. In 4 we have brainwashing music wtf dude?

In 1 the city is plunging into chaos and you set out to crush the syndicate, it even has story choice to become the new boss!

I was anyway sticking with the Remake from the beginning, but that is no excuse to not demand SOR4 become a more proper SOR title, right? Besides, many people ask for variety and other gameplay mechanisms, closer to previous titles, where and when the fangame brings them all together and allows YOU to micromanage them, even at whatever parameters you deem fit.
IMHO the SoR4 story is not really any better or worse than any of the previous ones - In all the SoRs the story is just a thin excuse to bash the heck out of tons of dudes.

SoR2 is still considered the best of the originals and at one point you're in an Alien-inspired tunnel, and later a pirate ship! With ninjas!

Why?

Who cares! Ask the Grand Uppah! XD

That said... who the heck did Mr X have to bang to have kids who look so unlike him... They must have some powerfull anime genes! XD

Yes, now that you mention it... WHERE are the ninjas? Another thing 4 didn't bring.

Mr.X did Caska, one of them blondes with whips. At least that is how speculation goes in fan(game) communities and being hinted at ancient artwork from the developers at the time of SOR 1/2. And the fangame has an easter egg/referrence, at underground Abadede Boss Rush mode arena: Elle holds a big inscription saying: <3 Mr.X

People in the fangame worked for 11 years straight on it, did it out of pure love (not for $$$), did a ton of research and geekish even footwork, plus proceeded to include everything and even more, in one huge, happy package. They even gave life to an enemy drawn upon the japanese Sor1 box that never was in game, they restored the beta motorcycle level from the japanese Bare Knuckle III etc.

If Sor4 was to be a proper tribute/love letter to this great franchise but most importantly a worthy successor, it has lots of work to do, as well as polishing and refinement!

So stay with the fan-game, what's your point?
