I need a bronze key to get into one of the Northern towers on level one... only I'm looking at two separate FAQs that have the co-ordinate info on where each key is, and the key isn't showing up. I've killed the Sharga that's supposed to be holding it, and there's nothing. The other issue is, one of the bronze keyed doors (the one with two barrels in it with an ant hole behind them) is open, but I don't remember picking up a bronze key, and if I did, I know for a fact, I didn't go into my inventory, grab the key, and open the door, it was unlocked when I walked into it.

I checked my items listing in my journal, and there's no listing for a bronze key. I have no idea what's going on, and since you guys are the only community still playing this game, I figured I'd ask you. Is there something I can do, or am I just going to have to restart? Was this a bug that other people have come across?

I don't think that the Bronze Keys are carried by Shargas. There's one in the NE section of "Entrance to Stonekeep" (room @ S X26 Y6) but it's on the ground. There's another one in the Kitchen (E X22 Y10), on Level 1, but that one is carried by an Ant (i think) and the Ant only pops out after smashing the grain sacks.

Maybe you're mixing up the brass and bronze keys ? The two brass keys are indeed carried by Shargas.

The FAQ I was reading said that one was carried by a Sharga, so I'll make sure to take the info from it with a grain of salt :\ Thanks for clearing that up though!

My problem is that I can't get to (E X22, Y10) because all the doors leading to the inner section of level 1 are either locked by Bronze locks (dark grey center surrounded by bronze metal), or they just won't open, and they have no locks or levers near them. I've tried looking for secret levers near them, since they usually show up in the same spot on every wall, and I've been using the maps that Lafazar put up in the "Maps for the first 15 Levels" thread, since none of the other images work anymore, but he doesn't denote whether they're secret panels with items in them (which most of them turned out to be, most had good-smelling herbs in them), or secret buttons/switches.

I also can't get into the Northeast tower, as it's one of the doors locked with a bronze key. The Northwest tower has one of the doors that just won't open for me, and I can't find a hidden switch or button near it to open it.

You can get one of the Brass Keys as soon as you come down the stairs after Thera, kill the Sharga in room @ E X13 Y18 (room is unlocked) and get the key.

Then you can get to the Kitchen (E X22 Y10) to get the Bronze Key (from the Ant) by using the Brass Key to unlock the door @ S X11 Y6 (this locked door is inside the same room where Drake finds his Journal). After passing through that door there are no more doors in your way to the Kitchen.

Notice that you have to actually use the keys (on the wall locks near the doors, not on the doors themselves) to unlock the doors, just having the key in your inventory won't unlock them.

Yeah, I knew that you had to actually USE the keys, which is why I was so surprised that that one door was unlocked. I was going "WHAT THE HECK IS THIS D:" the whole time.

And I got into the room and got the key! Thanks for your help, Namur! My thanks to you! My problem has been solved! :D

(also Malkavians rock, so you get brownie points atop the rep I hope you get for helping my derpy self out :D)

You're welcome. Be sure not to miss the fairies, it's one one of the quirkiest, funniest levels on any game i've ever played ;)
I have a bronze and a brass key, but the bronze key will not open a door in upper ruins of Stonekeep, passage 30 on my map. It tells me to use bronze key to enter but there is no key opening on either side wall of the door or on the door itself. Also I am having trouble finding a steel key. Where would that be?
The steel key is held by one of the two Shargas in the Council Room.
