I recently bought the core game, and I couldn´t make it run past the launcher. The problem was related to the "Full Screen" option. I found the solution here:

the Steam version is different path, also Gog has a launch the launcher icon which looks almost the same but yes disable full screen helps when people are running more than 1 Gpu [like many laptops] or older builds of Windows 10

eglinski: I, too, am on macOS 15.7 and just bought Stellaris. Getting error: “Failed to install Paradox Launcher: … permission denied“
Same idk how to fix it can anyone help?
Every launch issues I've had with Stellaris so far has been due to the flakey Paradox launcher, which is required if you go through the GOG main launch sequence.

To get around this is fairly simple:

* Right click the game icon, and select "Properties".
** Look in the field called "Target". This will have details such as "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\GalaxyClient.exe" /command=runGame /gameId=xxxxxxx /path="E:\Games\RimWorld"
** In the above example, the information after "/path=" is where the actual game install is on your disk.
* Delete everything in the Target field up to and including "/path=".
* At the end of the path that leaves you with ("E:\Games\Rimworld" in this example), append "\Stellaris.exe".
* In this example, that would leave the "Target" path as "E:\Games\Stellaris\Stellaris.exe".
* Click on the icon as normal. This no longer requires the Paradox Launcher, and is far more stable and likely to work.
Since the previous and new update, the game doesn't even run, CTD within a second of starting, I have had the informal pleasure of dealing with their help and well nothing they suggested worked what so ever, when I try to reinstall the game, it fails at 97% then I have to restart the GoG client, repair/verify and then it installs the rest of the game, but that doesn't fix the issue.

I've paid quite a fair bit of money $$$ for this product and they refuse to even acknowledge there is a problem to even want to fix it. Yet from the many forums since 3.3.2 patch, it has been a sheer nightmare for some of us trying to even get the game to run, in my dxdiag this is repeated over and over nearly 10 times

I have 315 games installed on my PC. I spent 2 days going over and running all of them but guess which is the ONLY game that refuses to run, yeah Stellaris after the 3.3.2 update and everything they suggested I do did not work at all and when they get to the notion of pulling out peripherals to make a game run, I was like WOW that's your great solution, why should I have to when this was never an issue before.

So, if it's not fixed in the next few weeks, I'll be asking for a full product refund back to my bank and will never own a working copy of the game, sad really because I like the game and wish to play it. This is not GoG's problem, none of my other PI games have any issue running so this is Paradox Interactive's issue and their non-existent help for a game issue they caused and their response has been useless and leads to frustrated disappointment.

UPDATE: Razer Tartarus V2 causes game to crash since the new patch, installing from GoG because of the new patch now corrupts the launcher that the game will not run from launcher, I think it's really pathetic for hardware to completely make a game in operative which never ever had any issues what so ever before to all of a sudden now be a major issue with the launcher, I can however run the game direct from the stellaris.exe but cannot use the Tartarus V2 at all anymore which the hardware was designed for, very disappointing from Paradox Interactive

Moved the tartarus V2 to another USB port and the game runs direct from exe but not from launcher, so I have half fixed their problem lol
