coldsteel: I don't have Galaxy. Are you saying we can't get patches without installing that? If so, I'm not buying games from GOG anymore.

phasmaphobic: Don't put words into my mouth bub. I simply told you the easiest way to do it that worked for me. Stop overreacting.
Okay bub. Don't get hysterical about it.
BUBS FIGHT!!!

Just kidding, I don't know the meaning of "bub".

Where is that "May 29" patch, and how do you know there is one?

It's the OP in this thread. Also it's announced on the Steam forums as well. I guess GOG will get around to posting it for download eventually.

Oh yes right I saw "Posted February 22, 2016" and did not see the edited date. Thanks. If GOG could hurry up a bit, that would be better.

There is a hotfix for Linux, though.

Bub is just another relaxed way of saying buddy/bro/dude/mate/guy/homie/pal/hombre/etc. I've heard it all my life across various parts of the country (USA), it's pretty common. It's silly and about as not-hysterical as you can get.

Note the definition of Hysterical: "deriving from or affected by uncontrolled extreme emotion."

This coming from the same person who said:

Mmh. I loved the word as soon as I rode it. I knew all the other you speak of, but never heard of "bub". I was quite afraid because when I goggled "bub" I found some creepy cat website... But a think I am slightly off-topic there. Thanks for you answer.

Bub.

I can see that. There is even a video game. In which the goddamn cat fires laser beams with his eyes.
A CAT WHO FIRES LASER BEAMS WITH HIS EYES.
Best game ever.
Could you perhaps stop referring to different versions as the same version? Apparently it still says 1.0, even though there's apparently at least a release version, a 5.25 and now a 5.30. It's fucking up support, because there appears to be no way to actually check what version you're on, since the game just tells you "1.0".

I am now stuck in the game thanks to a shoddy autosave/quicksave system combined with this, and discovered that there had been patches too late (because, again, it's all listed as 5.25). Support was nice enough to update my save, but the save isn't working, because until I actually went into this fucking forum, I assumed that 5.25 was the latest patch and that I had just updated to it.

So support probably updated my save to 5.30 unknowingly, making my save incompatible.

Why even have version numbers if you're not going to actually use them? Stop presenting the game as 1.0, if so. Why even convey false information to the players? That's actually worse than no information at all!

Hi! I'm George, I made the game and I'm the same person you've been emailing with about your problem. Your save will work with the latest version - GOG may be a little slow in updating the web installation, but they will and it will work fine. For my part, I put up the latest version of the game and its version name, but I don't have any direct control over how GOG chooses to display it or when they update their website installation.

If you're using GOG Galaxy, it will always have the latest version. If you're manually downloading through the website, it looks like they are lagging behind a bit. Just make sure you have the latest version (currently v1.0 - 5.30 HOTFIX on Galaxy) and your save should work correctly - it's definitely compatible.
Shouldn't you have a variable within the game that tells you which patched version of the game you are on? And then display that on your splash screen so people can tell which patch they need to apply next?
Hotfix =/= Patch

And GOG still have the 5.25 hotfix.

C'mon GOG...
