That at least gave me an error message, and the icon has a stop sign over it. Looks like some of my over games that previously worded have that too, so might be a Mac problem :/

Mine fails to launch as well, no matter if I use the launcher or the starbound.exe

Ok, here's how I fixed it:

Copied both player and universe folders [They are inside the folder named storage] than totally uninstalled the game.

Reinstalled it, had it run one time without beginning a new game (only the main screen).

Than replaced the previous folders by pasting them over the new ones.

So far so good, hope it helps those facing the same issue of the game failing to launch.

Is anyone having issues with the crew appearing nonfunctional?

I just purchased and installed Starbound 1.3, but it won't launch. 64bit version just says Starbound has stopped working and closes. 32 bit gives a fatal error then the stopped working message. Both occur when tehre is a black background and white box on the screen. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled several times, as well as launched from GOG launcher and the folder directly. I have also run as admin and in Windows 8 compatability. I have tried installing from GOG Galaxy and by downloading from gog.com.
I am running
Intel Core i5-6402P CPU @ 2.8 GHZ
8 GB Ram
64 Bit Windows 10 Home
Radeon RX 480 Graphics.

Has anyone else experienced this? Fatal error attached.


I have now evern tried downgrading from 1.3 to 1.2.2a, 1.2.1, 1.2 and still the same experience. Won't launch.

Ideas?
