Which Star Wars flight sim has the best single player campaign? I don’t mean graphics, or even really the story, but which one has the best missions and the most fun game play? If there must be a tie breaker then rank them by:

1. Best missions
2. Best story
3. Best graphics

Thanks!

Star Wars: TIE Fighter - Collectors' CD-ROM ('95)
You can't go wrong flying for the Empire!

With X-Wing and X-Wing Alliance, you do have missions that take place within the original trilogy (Death Star missions being the ones I remember). TIE Fighter not as much.

I never played XvT much, so not sure about the single player campaign that's on it.

Tie Fighter.

X-wing Alliance is technically more involved but its crossovers with the main trilogy and some EU material can be questionable sometimes, there are also the "family missions" which are a bit of a base breaker, some people like them fine, other hate them.

Story is a bit more low stakes in Tie Fighter but missions are arguably less divisive (though due to glitches at least one of them can only be played on easy) and crossovers with the old trilogy events are more lowkey.

X-wing and XvT have various balance problems, X-wing because it's stupidly hard and often inscrutable (it doesn't even tell you when you fail a mission, you can literally fly a failed mission ofr hours without noticing) XvT because its Balance of Power campaign is mostly balanced for cooperative multiplayer with some missions literally impossible for a solo player with difficulty levels above easy, the story is completely detached from any movie events.

PS: also Tie Fighter is the ideal starting point because it has the most comprehensive tutorials in the combat chamber missions if you are a new player, XWA doesn't explain things that well to a newcomer IMHO.
