Hallo Leute,

Hello people.
If you have the German CD-ROM Edition of "Star Wars: X-Wing": Are there any buggy missions?
I'm especially talking about the historical B-Wing missions and those of Tour of Duty 5, including those:
-Bwing Mission 4: A-Wing Gold jumps into hyperspace right at mission start
-ToD 5 Mission 2: The Tugs don't dock on the B-Wings
-ToD 5 Mission 3: The FRG Juvaini doesn't arrive
-ToD 5 Mission 10: A-Wing Gold jumps into hyperspace right at mission start
-ToD 5 Mission 16: A-Wing Gold jumps into hyperspace right at mission start
-Tod 5 Mission 18: A-Wing Gold jumps into hyperspace right at mission start

If you know of those and/or any other bugs, let me know. Because I am working on a Fix to resolved those issues.

I was having the same problems.
It got solved when I configured DosBox to run at 33MHz. Don't ask why.

Odd. When I attempted ToD5 10 years ago, I had the same problems. I checked out the corresponding German XWI-files and some settings in those are messed up.
For example:
The Tugs are ordered to dock but they aren't told on which craft to dock. I checked out the English XWI-files as well and in those, the Tugs are ordered to dock with the B-Wings. Most messed up German ToD5 XWI-files share the same issue.
But with X-ED and XCDR, those issues are easy to fix, which I've done for most of them. But I may encounter more problematic Tour 5 missions.

Which version of X-Wing do you use (Floppy, CD, Win95, which language)?

Sorry. If you say the german version has faulty XWI files, then that must be the reason.
I play with my English language Collectors' CD-ROM edition (DOS CD) and something weird was happening precisely in those missions, where Tugs wouldn't follow their orders. Neither the neutral corvette that docks on the containers near the B-Wings would appear.
I also found problems in other missions where some ships wouldn't just dock, come or jump to hyperspace.

I'm playing with the exact same CD that I played with in the 90's on my 385DX at 40MHz, and all missions worked fine back then.
Finally I found out that it was a problem with DOSBOX running at maximum available MHz. Not sure why, but in that case, it seems to mess up some of the game's internal timers. When I limited it to 35MHz in DOSBOX config file, all of sudden all those missions worked fine.

By the way. Even when X-ED looks better and is easier to use, I have noticed several bugs in it. Sometimes flightgroups will copy or show orders or properties from other flightgroups, and if you save the mission, they will be effectively overwritten in the file. That is a problem in X-ED that doesn't appear in XMB, for example. However XMB is a DOS program that you might find harder to use.
