So there I was, cruising through the first TOD when suddenly, after completing OP 10, it spat me right back out into the mission briefing for...OP 10. So, thinking I must have misread the "Mission complete" notification, I did the mission again. And again, I completed it, and again, spat out into the same briefing. I tried it several more times, but no matter how many times I protected the Sullustan leader, not-Ackbar wanted me to protect the Sullustan leader again. I figured maybe this was a problem just with TOD 1, and since I was only a couple missions away from finishing it anyway, decided to go on to TOD 2. So I completed the first mission of TOD 2...and what do you know, it wants me to protect that same freighter again. So suddenly, across all tours of duty, it appears that the game is not acknowledging that I've completed missions. Anyone got any ideas about this?

Are any cheats (invulnerability, infinite ammo, collisions off) enabled? Those prevent the player from moving on to the next mission. In TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance, using those cheats only reduce the player's score.
Yeah, this sounds like you turned on one of the cheats at some point. They stay turned on, even after you quit and restart a mission, and if the cheats are on at any time, even for a second or two, during a mission, the game won't let you advance. You'll need to turn them off by entering a mission, pressing escape, and unchecking the boxes. Then you'll have to quit and restart the mission without them on if you want it to start advancing again.

As for being able to beat missions without cheats enabled...well, that's old school gaming for you. ;)

I wish it was as simple as this. I actually tried to turn on cheat mode so I could use the instant victory cheat to get past the damn mission, but I can't figure out how to type messages into anything.

Oh, halfway through typing this I just realized you weren't talking about those cheats, you were talking about the ones in the options menu. I don't think I have those enabled, but I'll check again and make sure.

UPDATE: Everything works fine now. None of the cheats were enabled when I checked, but one of them probably was at the time. I have a sneaking suspicion I may have turned off collisions at some point after getting fed up with how thick that mission can get. But I was probably just trying to breeze through it without clearing the field first. Completed the mission and it advanced to the next one as it was supposed to. All good. Thanks y'all!

EDIT 2: I wish I could mark you both as solutions, but I just marked the first one.
