I'm running TIE Fighter (the 1998 version with XWA Wrapper installed) on Windows 7 and using a wired XBox One gamepad. The controller is detected fine, but in game the only things that work are pitch/yaw and a few seemingly random controls. If anyone know how to easily set it up let me know!

Regards,

P.

EDIT: I found this page for Xbox 360 and tried it but no luck; when I test the gamepad the throttle controls (using either the right-hand joystick or the trigger button) don't work.

EDIT2: Just to note that manually configuring the pad would not work well. For example, the trigger button is Joystick 12. If I set that to Increase Throttle it _kinda_ works BUT I would have to keep clicking the trigger to increase the throttle rather than hold it down.

The windows games IIRC should work with a gamepad (you can bind the controls using the ESC key menu) since they use the windows calibration but I never tried myself to use one as I always had some sort of joystick on hand.
IIRC the GOG version has a wrapper with a joystick emulator, open the DDraw.cfg file in the game folders and see if it's activated or not.

In case there is no such wrapper or it's an older version, here's the latest:
https://github.com/rdoeffinger/xwa_ddraw_d3d11/releases/tag/v1.5.9
It includes some options for xinput controllers including ways to use the triggers as throttle but do keep in mind that the implementation of the throttle axis in Tie Fighter is only in 1/3 increments for some reason.
