Hey all,

Already played Shadows of the Empire - very good game (thanks to the first and last missions) with an enjoyable story.

Would you say Rogue Squadron 3D is on the same level (at least) story-wise?

Basically if the narrative for this game is less compelling than that of Shadows of the Empire then I won't bother.

It's not that I don't find value in this type of gameplay, it's just that I need a bit more reason for playing than "big robot incoming, take it down" and "congrats you're the winner" along with a couple of nods to the films.

No, it doesn't have a cinematic story of the same caliber but the various missions are narrative-heavy and some groups of two or three missions form some mini story arcs and the story does end with a boss battle of sorts.
Also the gameplay is better because it's basically only the kind of gameplay of the first and last mission of SOTE.

Thanks for the reply!
I guess I will be tempted to try it out then.

Cheers
