Black and White: Hard to read for my old eyes ;-)
I ordered the prima guide on a whim.

-Really Enjoying the game I never played it when it came out but I don't get the flak that this game receives. If you endure the interface and learning curve you are rewarded.

-Thoughts?
Too hard was all I got from forums back when it came out... kids wanted a game muppets could play and they got it, for the next ten years.

p.s. the old fan site had some nice tips. http://swrebellion.com/faq.html

The original manual was white/dark green. There was no color in it.

As for the game itself I was one of a the few at the time who really enjoyed it (as much as TIE Fighter and Dark Forces back then).
Rats - that manual needs color in a bad way.

I have no idea why people didn't like it back in the day. I loved it and played it to death - though I very quickly learned to switch the game to register a win on HQ defeat. Now I'm reading through the manual before playing and I realize there's a lot of good stuff in here that I completely forgot. Full 3D battles!? With weapon arcs included!?
No full color manual, but some kind soul posted a digital copy of the awesome full color poster that came with the boxed game. It has keyboard shortcuts and good reference materials on it, plus a ship guide! Check it out in this thread.
