Hi, I have the Steam version of this game and when I saw about the update I thought I would give it a go as I had played the vanilla version years ago but never got into it as much as the first game. I could not get the game to work at all, it kept crashing right after the logos played at the start. Went through the Aspyr support which kind of went round in circles but didn't get fixed.

I really wanted to play with the restore content mod, will the GOG version work for me?
I am running:
Windows 7
intel i5 -3550
8GB RAM
GeGorce GTX 550Ti

If I have missed anything please let me know :)

GOG's version will definitely work on your machine but i think it's not the updated version yet. I heard they're probably gonna release a version similar to the one on Steam but might take some time... I hope this helps.
Yeah, but the main point, IMO, would be getting the version runnning at all, and then applying restored content mode, posted here.
So... on machine level it should run like hell - the game is old afterall, retro60s. I think to problem is just... the game is old. :) I would say it's more probable that GOG version would work, plus community or/and GOG Tech Support should help you too. Maybe wait for promo to buy it cheap... and there is also refund policy.

Thanks for the help, I might just take your advice and wait for a sale. I know it should run fine, a lot of people seemed to be having random trouble with it as well. I went on holiday while I was trying to get it fixed and received an email from the support people while I was away saying they were glad they fixed the problem and to rate their service! Suffice to say it was not fixed!
Lo and behold a sale appeared! Installed and worked fine, added the RCM and it seems to be running perfectly. Thanks for the help!

Thanks, (un)fortunately I'm using original install disks, not steam. I did get it to work, but I had to look wide and far to find the option to set in my ini to make it stop crashing.
