I've played the KotOR games vanilla about 6-8 times each, back when I had my XP machine, so I've installed the TSLRCM this time to see what's different. Problem is, I'm not sure if the planet order I used before still works with the restored content.

Also, I haven't found all of HK's parts yet and I'm about to leave Telos. Is this going to be a problem down the road? Will I be able to come back to Telos to see that area that's locked?

I tried to search this forum for the answer before posting the question, but the search feature is doing strange things and I couldn't read the results, so sorry if this has been asked and answered before.
I (and many, many others) would recommend the following order for the female exile:
Nar Shaddaa - Dantooine - Dxun/Onderon (Part 1) - Korriban - Dxun/Onderon (Part 2)

Why? There are two things you have to keep in mind when dealing with the planet order: your party members and your lightsaber.
Going to Nar Shaddaa and then Dantooine first, completes your party as early as possible, so you might get the most out of them story-wise and have plenty of opportunities to travel and train with them. And it is very easy to complete your first lightsaber on Nar Shaddaa.
Finally, this order makes some sense story-wise overall, since the game will feel good and logical throughout and the progression of conflict and tension is natural.

Now, the male exile is a slightly different story:
Nar Shaddaa - Dxun/Onderon (Part 1) - Dantooine - Dxun/Onderon (Part 2) - Korriban

Again, this order makes sense story-wise. You'll go to Dantooine later, since there is no new party member waiting for you if you're male.

You might want to try the M4-78 Enhancement Project, a modification that runs well and intentional along with TSLRCM. It will restore another lost planet to the list, M4-78, and you should go there directly after Korriban if you choose to try it.

Finally, you will be able to return to Telos IV whenever you want, but not to the surface. I'm not sure what locked area you're talking about, if it is the locked underground of the military basis, don't worry, you'll see that one.
And the parts for HK-47 can be found anywhere in the galaxy (try Nar Shaddaa), you can't complete HK-47 on Telos IV, as far as I know.

What about the crystals on Dantooine?

tinyE: What about the crystals on Dantooine?
Yes, there is a cave on Dantooine with many rare crystals, including the famous personal one.
This is an important aspect to consider in your planet order for some, but I never really saw the point. Sure, collecting the crystals early on makes your lightsabers a lot more powerful, but does it matter? The game is easy enough, you don't need to rely on such things and if you play as a force-centric Jedi, it is even less important.
The personal crystal can be upgraded throughout the game when your alignment or level changes, so it doesn't really matter when you grab the crystal in regard to its strength and bonuses.

Apart from that, you can always go to Dantooine, pick the crystals up and ignore the rest for the time being, though that certainly isn't nice role-playing.

And finally, finding the crystals a bit later into the game feels more natural to me, it is set up as an coincidence and should remain that. But that's just personal preference.

I only mentioned it because for some reason I've been doing a lot of reading on this subject lately (I need a life) and there seems to be a lot of argument about it. :P I'm fascinated by these sort of intricacies though and could talk about it all day.

You're not alone :D
I was referring to the locked area on Telos Station.

Thanks for the reply. I used that order before the restoration, so it should feel mostly natural during this play through.

Nar Shaddaa - Dantooine - Dxun/Onderon (Part 1) - Korriban - Dxun/Onderon (Part 2)
So, I finished the TSLRCM and M4-78 run, last night. While I really enjoyed the original released version, this actually did feel more complete, story-wise. Thanks for the advise and recommendations.

Was the Industrial Zone of M4 FPS hell for you?
It is hell for everyone :D.

While I think everyone should play M4-78 at least once, I personally won't include it in my next playthrough. It just felt a bit out of place.

Not too bad. I had a minor problem with progression until I started reading droid names. After that, it went almost smoothly (ok, there was that one droid I wish I hadn't talked to before I learned other things :rolls eyes: )
