So in case you didn't notice the title, there are going to be spoilers in this thread. Of the kind that spoil the game for you (hence the name). So unless you've already cleared the game, you really shouldn't be reading this. Assuming you do not your game to be spoiled. By the spoilers in this thread. Don't say I didn't warn you.

So now that the spoiler alert about the spoilers is done away with, here's my question (it may be a rather obvious one): Is Bastila's mother's sidequest totally, utterly and irreparably borked if you happen to leave Tatooine for last (which would mean the Leviathan captures you before you get there at all)? I've played the game before, I know what happenes to Bastila and yadda yadda, but it was ages ago and I don't remember if I will ever get another chance to have her in my group so I can go to Tatooine and finish the quest (gut says I won't). It would suck if it was borked, because I was trying to go for a somewhat canon playthrough, but I guess there's going to be no chance of redeeming Bastila at all without doing that quest. And I had even downloaded a mod that allegedly fixed the infamous romance-resetting bug! What a waste!

Yes, you won't be able to finish/start that quest now.
After the Leviathan you won't have the opportunity to go with her to Tatooine anymore, which is required to complete the quest.
Since you can't take Bastila with you on Korriban anyway, I usually save that planet for last.

So no quest means no chance at all at redemption and/or romance, does it? Crap.

Yeah, I remember having done that in my first playthrough. I used to decide on my destinations based on perceived "pleasantness", and Korriban is not particularly alluring to a light side guy. I just somehow forgot about the Leviathan (not about the reveal, of course). It's a shame, I barely used Bastila at all in this playthrough. Didn't remember she was lost so early.

There is a last romance option if you played your cards right with her before Leviathan and you sweet talk her just right... this is in fact the cannon outcome.
I missed out on this quest to when i played KOTOR for the first time a couple of months back. Did I miss anything of note by failing to kindle the romance? Are there romance scenes a la Mass Effect or is it just some dialogue?

You mean the last dialog option before (if) you fight her? Yeah, I remember that from my first playthrough. I remember having gone through the whole romance (just dialog and a very chaste fade to black where just a kiss is implied, unless I'm really missing something), but probably borked it afterwards due to the infamous bug. Anyway, I opted for a "let's be just friends" approach and she wasn't quite convinced, to say the least. I guess I'll try the lovey-dovey option this time, if only for canon's sake. I suppose it's only a matter of a rather difficult roll, or can it actually be rendered impossible?
there is a final romance option after you fight her at the end and yes it is just dialogue... nobody gets any action but the cannon story {came out after the game} has her taking care of your kid as you go looking for the lost evil empire that swtor introduces

and yes you can bugger it up but a good charisma score helps a lot

O.K. then, I'll try to fix it on the Forge. I have actually read the Revan tie-in novel to MMORPG, so I'm in the loop about canon. Decent reading, I guess. Not great, just decent, but at least it gave Revan some closure. Not sure what SWTOR has in store for him, I've played it very sporadically, but I don't think I'm ever going to see even half the story there is for it. I just find MMORPGs unbearably tedious.

the story is told in side quests on the empire cap-world that you can start doing about level 9-15 and you need to run the 4 different classes to get the full story because its told from different people... whom ever did the story was clear a Revan fan and did a top job imo.

of course EA stepped in a little latter and made Revan into a crap add on to try and keep people from walking away but SWTOR was a ghost town on most servers by this time and most people never noticed.

have fun!

Hmm, interesting. I didn't mention it so as not to spoil the surprise, but I have met Revan briefly in SWTOR as a Jedi sentinel. Not sure where his story is supposed to go from there (if it's not actually done already). Perhaps he's actually a plot element for all eight classes' stories. I did know, of course about the Shadow of Revan expansion thing, it's not like they don't advertise their paid stuff, but I don't see myself spending a dime on that game for now.
So, we already know that the quest about Bastila's mother is botched if you leave Tatooine for last, but is the same true for Mission's brother's last stage (the tach gland and whatnot)? I gave the gland to him and he said he'd meet me there "later". I travelled back and forth several times and the bugger's nowhere to be seen. Since there are no story-related planets after that other than Rakata (from which there is no return, is there?), I guess there is no chance for time to pass so that he'll be there and you can get the "payoff" of him confirming he's conned you. Anyway, screw that, I went to Rakata already, and most of my active (and completed o_O) quests disappeared from my log. Some "canon playthrough" this is turning out to be! -_-' I also missed Juhani's enslaver's quest since, again, I didn't encounter that ugly purple twi'lek until Tatooine, so no room for him to appear again. This game really screws you over unless you pick the "right" planet order, it seems.
Those quests add a little story but not a huge amount else to the game, so you don't miss out on much. I prefer to think of missing them as a good replayability opportunity. The next time you play you may get a nice surprise that you never ran into before.

I suppose the answer to your question is that there is a "canon" order to the planet visits.

Oh, is there? Now I'm curious, which is supposed to be the canon order and where does this canon come from? I might wanna bear it in mind for my next replay some few years from now :-P. Unless I decide to go Dark Side and kill anything that breathes...
