When loading KOTOR One, I get the pictures for the production companies, then my screen goes black. I have to used the Task Manager to get the game to finally show the Game Screen (New Game, Load, Movies Quit etc).

From there, if I create a new character, I am sent back to a black screen. If I keep hitting the "send to" button on the Task Manager, I finally get the game. I think repeating "send to" in the Task Manager Application is allowing the game to play through a Video. Once past the Video, the game loads and works fine.

I can also use the Task Manager to open up the game screen which then let's me load a game. And it works fine--- until the next video cut screen. Black screen and back to the Task Manager.

How the Task Manager allows for me to get to the Game Screen is that I load the Task Manager then hit cancel. I get a blurry screen, then the Game Screen. It is as if loading Task Manager allows the graphics to begin to co-operate. How is way above my pay grade.

As I said, once in the game, it works fine. But I like the cut screen videos. And having to hit Task Manager so many times is annoying. Any one have this problem and have a way to get into the game in a more normal fashion?

Thanks.
PS (edit) I tried 5K and Windows mode for Video. Nothing changed. I went into the graphic card and tried various display sizes and types. Nothing changed. Loaded Flawless Widescreen. Nothing changed.

PPS
I can sometimes, not always get the movies to work from the Game Screen. And the only way to quit the game is through Task Manager. The game won't shut down otherwise.

Which resolution are you playing the game at?

dr.schliemann: Which resolution are you playing the game at?
On the graphics card I tried all of them. from 1920/1080 to 800/600 and with each setting on scaling. It was always the same. I went back to original settings of 1920/1080 with Maintain Display Scaling
Computer:
W10
IntelCore i5-6400 CPU @2.70 GHz
AsusTEK 64 bit

I'm more interested in game's video settings, because of this.

Do you have a dedicated video card?

The Intel Integrated Core is it.

As you can read at the link I posted, that might be the problem.
I'm not sure there could be any real solution for your problem, but you could try setting the game to run in windowed mode. If you want to try it, follow these steps.

I'll have to try tomorrow (if I can get out of something.)
But I wanted to thank you for your effort.
I was able to try it and it didn't work. But your suggestions did clear the Pix I get a lot. So I am marking it solved. Simple truth, a cheap business computer (Intel integrated chips) does not a good gaming computer make. From what I read, there isn't a solution.
But I've gotten good at work arounds.

Thanks again.
