:( Here I am a full year later. Last year I returned the game CERTAIN it was crashing due to the crummy integrated intel graphic card.

So today, I finally install restore content after re-buying it at the last sale. I now have an integrated Nividia graphics card. All my other games like it much better.

Play as far as 'T3 click galaxy map'. Try and tab out to check something (clock or fraps I don't recall which) and BOOM. The whole PC goes down with the exact same winsys 32 error message as last year. I have never had trouble just tabbing back out to desktop and into a game before and I had done it once before. (Of course that occasional need is also why I prefer a windowed mode option.)

Is there ANYTHING I can do to make it work? I'm so disappointed, I was sure the new dedicated graphics card would fix it! :'(

GeForce GTX 750 TI

Even Shadows of the Empire was pleased with that. And it wouldn't touch my old one. I DID see something on the Steam forum about the same effect (tab out and back and boom, crash PC). I did think it might be a setting that needs changing, or maybe something doesn't handle transition in resolution well. (KOTOR 2 being much lower, naturally than my desktop). But if that were the case I'd expect it would have an issue with the other old games too, and it doesn't.
To clarify, when you say "the whole PC goes down", do you mean the program crashed and you landed on the desktop, or that the whole PC crashed and had to be rebooted afterwards? Because the latter is very unusual and dangerous in many ways. I've actually never heard of KotOR causing such a big problem.

Why do people always expect to be able to tab out? A game has no need to support such a feature and KotOR maybe just doesn't. I've never even tried it myself, but there are some who can tab out and some who can't.
By the way, there are widescreen mods available for this game. You can play it with a resolution of 1920x1080, if you want...

It literally sent the whole PC to blue screen, utter crash. error data gathering and rebooting on its own. Mind you with that integrated Intel card it did it EVERY time. This time its happened once. But I dare not tab out on purpose! The concern now is sometimes I tab out by accident...hit the wrong key. I once hit a windows key that was a shortcut and the whole game froze up and made me force quit.

That said I have got it playing now but I am terrified of having anything else running. Any other game I can have FRAPS on, maybe leave a browser in the background (that was usually why I'd tab out, looking for help or the instruction manual if I got stuck.)

One thing I did note: in the forums someone mentioned the same regarding restored content mod. They said it fixed most bugs but for them every time (that's even worse than for me!) if they tabbed out it was instaboom crash!
I highly doubt that this is caused by TSLRCM, in any case no piece of software should be able to send you to the screen of blue death by its own, in my experience this always points to an OS or hardware issue.
Are there any other actions that cause this to happen, maybe even outside of gaming?
The most common cause for such a crash is CPU overheating, since it only happens when tabbing out this is less likely, but still worth checking out. On that note, is it the same computer and operating system and you just switched out the graphics card, or is it a different computer altogether?

A bit more information in general would be helpful, your system specifications for example. What OS are you using, what kind of CPU, and so forth.

Could easily be a driver problem. I take it that falls under OS issue?
Turn off automatically restart on BSOD to actually see the error. That may point you in the right direction.

Yes, I'd count drivers as part of the OS, in a general sense. But which drivers? If I understand everything correctly, this crash occurred with two different graphics cards, one Intel and the other Nvidia.
Well, it hasn't done it since I stopped multi tasking and tabbing out.

It's the same computer, all I had done was get a new (improved) graphics card.

Other than that its Windows 10 64 bit with me warily battling Microsoft on their unwelcome update issues.
