ussnorway: what os?
win 10 64 bit
Processor AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor 3.70 GHz
RAM 32,0 GB

gfx Radeon RX Vega

crashes when trying to enter certain rooms and locations - seems there is an issue with the gfx but i have not found a solution to it
maybe but some script errors are coded as part of the game for example "on Taris" you return from getting the swoopbike = you cann't wonder off because the game expects you to follow a path back to the base

another problem is the ryzen cpu has way too many cores so Taris and Dantooine will be very prone to crash [save offen] because those planets got made last and kicked out the door unfinished

if you have access to an old intel chip laptop that will be more stable but its an old game yes
You can modify the shortcut so the game will run on 1 core. That might help with stability.

If you want a particular game to always run on a particular core without having to manually assign it every time, you have to modify the shortcut to the application and add "c:windowssystem32cmd.exe /C start /affinity x" to the front of the shortcut's target (x = cpu core # plus 1, i.e. 1 = core #0, 2 = core #1, etc.); you'll have the Command Prompt screen flash up for a second when you run the app, but otherwise there won't be any difference.
if your mouse disapears a lot then shutting down cores can help yes but watch heat if you run a ryzen chip on only 1 core

the sky of Dantooine turning into stripes is just the busted coding... a small bug that doesn't stop you playing and really only that one planet

a blocked path on Taris [swoopbike quest] or Dantooine [find why the grove is bad quest] are both script errors... as is the earn rep for sith Academy on Korriban [you have to leave the talk and retalk if you do too many rep quests at once]

if you are crashing other places then i'd like to know about it?
Fixed via downgrading the amd driver to 22.5.2
Seems to be fixed with the Adrenalin 23.4.3.
E.g. Upper Cantina on Taris was a guaranteed Crash To Desktop, now it works flawless.
