I want to know this, too. I reserved my copy, but I want it to work. Also, does anyone know if Flawless Widescreen works with Win10?
Didn't have time to test it yet. But there isn't a new download, so I don't know why it would work now.
Flawless Widescreen works on Win10, the Steam version runs in widescreen with it.

Thanks for letting me know about Flawless Widescreen. :)

I hope they update it soon. I don't have the upgrade yet, but I will want to play KoToR 1 on it when I get it.
Just ran the GOG version on Windows 10 with Flawless Widescreen played a little bit past the combat tutorial. No issues at all.

Ran Once without FW.
Ran Once with FW and changed res.
Ran Once with FW with ultrawide res and played game.

Environment:
Windows 10 Pro x64
Dedicated nVidia graphics card GTX 970
All Flawless Widescreen fixes active
All graphics options set to maximum

jcoa: TC, does Kotor 1 still not work? GOG labeled it as compatible with Windows 10 today, so you may have to re-download to see if it works. And what about KOTOR 2?
When I tried it today myself, it still wasn't working.

Compatibility modes on/off
Forcing one core on/off
Changing settings related to shades or FBO on/off
Opening videos there/removed
AMD dll fix installed/uninstalled
Widescreen mod used and unused

All of these were tried on a fresh win10 install of KotOR 1 which previously worked fine on win 7 and 8.1 on the same hardware. Each test was done by itself and then eventually combined with others to see if results improved.

Win 10 Pro x64, 4770k, HD7950 with latest drivers.

EDIT: Also figured I'd throw out there, but the start times for the game are massive, too. They take close to five minutes for anything of the game to actually show up on screen, even if it's just a black screen before the eventual crash message.

Pretty much everything Lurtz stated. The only thing I can think of is that GOG applied some kind of fix that screws with the game on Win10 in some way.

HOW?
Well, seems to be an issue with AMD? Maybe replacing some of the dlls could bring some improvement?

Nope. I have Nvidia, and it doesn't work.

Edit: WELL, apparently, Win10 reset my KoToR graphics settings back to integrated. So, I swapped it to my nVidia driver and it's working! :D

I hope they do fix the overall issue, though, so everyone can play it.

Are you talking about that one fix where you replace old AMD dlls with new ones from driver packages? Because that didn't do anything for me either.
Disable Frame Buffer and Soft Shadows. and the games runs with no problems. its under the advanced settings in the graphics options

I'll try again and double check they're disabled in the ini later on, but the game wouldn't even make it to the title screen. The screen would go black and then crash.
Disabling soft shadows and frame buffer only fixes crashes when going from the menus to ingame graphics. It doesn't explain or fix the issue that the game doesn't even load the main menu without crashing.
In my experience at least...

Yeah sorry, I didn't read that.

Yeah, I have pretty much the same issue, and both of those settings are disabled by default in the ini just from a quick reinstall.

Pretty strange stuff, especially since the steam version works fine.

Reminds me of when I tried getting Bastion to work under Linux, and despite the fact that the humble version's binaries and libraries were identical to the Steam version's (I checked the hashsums of all the files in both installations), the steam version magically worked on AMD's latest drivers where the humble version refused to run.
