It's probably been asked to death, but I just want to know.
Steam has native widescreen and Cross-Platform, GOG doesn't because it hasn't gotten the new version from Aspyr yet. Meanwhile, last I checked Steam's EXEs for these are DRM'd (unless the new version undid that).

The biggest deal here is cross-platform; there's a DRM-free version of the second game's patch, and the first works just fine using the other widescreen methods.

For some of us the native Linux support and the controller support are the two things that made us go buy this game on Steam instead of here.
The version information seems somewhat counterintuitive as the Steam version is v1.0.2.0 dated 2015, while the GOG.com version is v2.1.0 dated 2004. I understand that in some respects the Steam build is superior and supposedly DRM-free as well, but why hasn't the Aspyr version been released to GOG?
I wish Linux was supported...
You can always vote on gog wishlist to show interest.
I would add direct link, but "You cannot post any links at this moment."

Gonen32: It's probably been asked to death, but I just want to know.
I bought this years christmas special 10 games for $33 from gog.
I have actually never played it before today and I like it
current system is win7 32-bit (an aldi comp from like 2004 -2007) running beautifully

Main reason for buying through GOG:
sick and fed up with Steam slowing my computer down so much.
sick and fed up with steam having to run updates before i can even play a game
sick and fed up with games on steam wanting to do updates before i start playing
sick and fed up of having to launch into steam when you click on the game icon for the game to work
sick and fed up of having to run verification on game files because they have been corrupted

and as for Linux well depending on which distro your running why not just use "Play on Linux" with the GOG.com thing already attached??

if you think im kinda dirty on steam these days you would be right

As far as I was aware, the steam version of KOTOR is the same as the one on GOG. Only KOTOR2 has been updated to support modern displays. Or am I wrong in that assertion?

As for the updated version of KOTOR2 on Steam, someone made a patch to update the GOG version to the same as on Steam. I'd tested it and it worked. One sec while I find it and I will link it here.

EDIT: Yup, it's the first stickied thread in the main KOTOR forum page.

All links are long broken, could you share your downloaded patch? I would be grateful
low rated
GOG version, always.

I'll be cold in the ground before I install Steam on my computer.

thanks for the help
Hmm, I just checked out of idle curiosity and I have the Mac version on Steam, while the GoG version still seems to be windows only.

Mind, this is getting less and less important with Apple dropping 32 bit application support, but still...

torp: …… with Apple dropping 32 bit application support, but still...
I've been building computers since the 1980s. This is typical of Apple: no support, dropping support leading to lack of applications/games, etc... it's their MO!

But people continue to but this overpriced, overrated computer system.... I guess their is one born every minute.
