When I start the game the screen is so dark that I can't see much else other than the reticle in the center of the screen. When I adjust the brightness slider in the video options nothing changes on the screen. Any suggestions?

XP compatibility mode usually fixes it but for me I had to change seta r_overBrightBits to 0 in the jk2config.cfg file as well

Thanks, russellskanne! I use flux and turns out that was causing me problems. I closed flux and reloaded Jedi Outcast and the gamma settings now works great.
