I'm running Windows 10 on my machine and just installed SWGB. The game fires up just fine but the issue is when the gameplay starts. Upon the game starting, the view starts to quickly scroll to the upper left corner (as if you're quickly scanning the play field). Once it reaches the top, it then starts to scroll to the top of the game screen. It makes playing the game impossible.

I've attempted the following fixes, yet none seem to work:
1. click every other button on my keyboard
2. try to re-center the view box on the screen, but it does nothing.
3. run the EXE in compatibility mode for XP (both service patch 2 and 3)
4. run the program as an administrator
5. messed with a number of options in the game itself, but nada


None have worked so far.

Anyone else see this issue or perhaps know what to do next?
I've attached a marked up image showing you this view box and where it wants to go.

Any help would be appreciated!

My father is having exact same issue running Windows 10. Haven't found fix yet

Same scrolling issue here but I'm not running the GOG version I have both the CDs. Was going to buy the GOG version hoping it was my CDs being outdated, until I saw your post. Looks like GOG has their work cut out for them. hopefully they can patch this and other games with issues on Win 10.

4gig ram
NVidia GT 430

Edit: Seems that the GOG installer was updated yesterday and the new version works fine for me on Windows 10.

Did you download and install the latest version from GOG? Anxious to know so I can buy it from GOG if it works.

So this game suddenly started working on all my Win 10 computers for no reason.

The only thing I can think of that fixed it is running a calibration on my joysticks in Devices and Printers. Before calibration the crosshair for the joysticks was in the extreme left top corner(where the view box in GBG wanted to auto scroll).

I suppose you could try plugging the joysticks as well.

I'm having same issue, no clue how to fix it and it's making me pretty sad, was so anxious to play this when I saw GOG had it up on there site now. Sigh... now we begin the wait for some sort of patch. P.S. I think the joystick thing was interesting but as I don't use joystick and as I assume many others don't as well it's unfortunately not really a fix.

Quad core intel i5 5200u
intel HD 5500 graphics
8gb ram
Windows 10 home x64

EDIT: As I looked around it seems this wasn't uncommon and has happened similarly to AoE players. Restarting machine worked for me and a few others it looks like, but it seems certain applications (like zune) make the problem reappear when used. Hope this helped

Not sure if I've found a fix, but the first time I played, I didn't enable the firewall and it worked fine. The second time I played and did enable firewall access and had this issue. Uninstalled the game, deleted all registry entries, and the firewall access, rebooted and now it works fine without firewall access enabled.

Well, I didn't download it on GOG and I had the exact same problem. don't know how it is for you, but for my issue, (I think this is what did it) I went to the Properties option from the computer icon and changed the Compatibility to the latest computer version if that makes it at all sensable. I'm happy if it helped you at all, I don't know anything about computers, lol, so I hope this helps??
