Cpt.Obvious: I don't get it. Jedi Knight always crashes wenn I start a new game/load game with dgVoodoo at 0x08F2B7EC in D3DImm.dll.

Did I something wrong? I copied D3DImm.dll, DDraw.dll and dgVoodooSetup.exe into the game folder. I set hardware acceleration on and resolution to 1920x1080 (also 1024x786).

My system:
Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro (6.3.9600 Build 9600)
AMD FX-6300
AMD Radeon HD 7750 (14.12 AMD Catalyst)
Is not compatible with AMD GPUs using Catalyst 13.2 Beta 7 or newer

Actually it is. The catalyst limitation only applies when you run the game in native mode, not with dgvoodoo.
Oh wow, I can also run this at 4k with the patch. Though, not worth it since the HUD doesn't scale is really tiny.

Well that's why most games have problems with AMD cpu and gpu, the best pc combo is intel + nvidia, always hear problems with amd gpus or drivers on games.

Mhm I didn't had much problems last years. The native version of Jedi Knight uses Direct3D 5.0 which newest AMD drivers don't support anymore (after all these years). But dgVoodoo uses DirectX11 so it should be fine.

You might want to post your issue in the dgvoodoo thread at vogons.org. The developer of dgvoodoo visits there regularly .
http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=34931

There are two other solutions you can try:

1. A dll file from the last working drivers
http://steamcommunity.com/app/32380/discussions/0/846957366680893679/
You have to delete dgvoodoo or set it to passthrough mode.
or
2 Wined3d.
http://en.file-upload.net/download-9903964/ddraw.zip.html (Click on the blue Download button with a cloud on it, if a window for their download app pops up close it, then click the blue button again)
Wined3d will make the game take a long time to load with a black screen (it may even seem the game stopped responding), just be patient.

IronArcturus: Will this patch allow a windowed mode in Dark Forces II? How can one get that to work?
avatar
teleguy: The complete wrapper includes a controlpanel where you can set the game to window mode.

Or you can use alt+enter unless it has been disabled by that conf file included with the patch.

It forces windowed mode for me and there seem to be no 3D acceleration options now on intel HD 3000. Please help

Did you perhaps select dgVoodoo Virtual SVGA card on the DirectX tab in dgVoodoo setup?

How do you set it up there is no dgvoodoo.exe in the file only dgvodoo.conf. And also i've experimented it seems that ddraw.dll is the one that does this but it gives a black screen on 3D acceleration without it.

It's included here:
http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2_41.zip

Edit: It looks like Intel enabled DirectX 10.1 with a driver update. If you're still using one of the older drivers dgVoodoo won't work.

Strange, none of these solutiuons work for me. With the last working drivers (DLLs) JK is still crashing (even the beta driver). And when I use Wined3d JK uses software rendering mode for any reason.

I posted this issue on vogons.org forum: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=34931&p=402780#p402780

How do I install dgvoodoo? If I put all the files in the directory it still renders the menu in a tiny fullscreen menu which means that the game would not be in fullscreen as the menu was like that when the gameplay and without the glide it says unable to set video mode and with glide it says insert CD.

The 3d acceleration works fine for me in the GOG version. The only downside is that the framerate seems to be locked in 30fps (except the gun). I have tried to fix the problem with the fix in the first post and tried to fiddle with dgvoodoo. The results so far have been the same as the unpatched GOG version or slightly worse (the fix in the first post looked fine but made the menus slower for some reason).
Is it even possible to fix the framerate? If it is then how?
