OK. That really worked. Now how do we get unstretched menus and cutscenes with the 3D content in widescreen?

I donwloaded the wrapper version with the control panel and can choose between centered and stretched. Centered makes menu and cutscenes way to small, stretched...well stretches them. How do I get the correct aspect ratio?

Thanks for putting together this patch/wrapper, it works great for me. I had no idea this existed for this game, but I've been out of the loop in terms of what the Jedi Knight 1 community has brewed up. (For about 13 years or so haha)

I do have a question regarding the community on the JKDF2 IRC, how often do you guys get games going on there? I might have to stop by when I get the chance. It's been way too long since I've played a game of Jedi Knight online. I used to play on the Internet Gaming Zone back in the day under the name Baal (Before Diablo II). I wasn't really known, but who knows, maybe someone remembers me haha. I used to be in the clans, Sapient, CoSA and JG (Jedi Guardians).

Nope. The FMVs and the music is working fine for me.

Computer specs:
- Intel Core i5 3210m
- 16 GB RAM DDR3 1600 MHz
- Intel HD4000
- 256 GB SSD
- WIndows 7 64-bit SP1 (Bootcamp)
No stuttering in my machine (2500k @ 4,2 Ghz, GTX 780). But I'd really like to have them not stretched. Anyone??? :)

Thanks for the patches but my HUD has disappeared and like someone said earlier the game says its running at 60fps but it doesnt seem that smooth...

Any help?
For me WineD3D does work. This patch crashes my system (WinXP - 32, NVidie GTX 650Ti) when I try to start the game (tested MotS and JK).

IronArcturus: Interesting! So the window in the right of the screenshot, is that the original launcher or is that the patch launcher?
That's the original controlpanel (not really a launcher, you only have to run it when you want to change settings)

PS: I've attached a conf file with Alt+Enter enabled. Just put it into the JK folder and replace the .jpg ending with .conf

Can you post a photo of your screen?

AFAIK Dege is still working on those scaling modes but if I understood that correctly there are limitations imposed by Windows/the video driver.

Ok, I set the patch launcher to run in a window, but when I launch the game from the patched JK.exe, it's still stuck in fullscreen. What else do I need to do?

Trank209: Did you play in 3d mode?

Also for anyone who wants to test framerate, you can just type t (talk button) and then TAB (Will change chat to console), then type framerate.
As in for 3D glasses or something? No. But I did play in 3D acceleration on. I found a different fix that works for AMD:

http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=597&section=downloads

And that runs perfectly smooth, but looks really bland compared to this, because this is using all the voodoo lighting effects and such. I just wish everything weren't moving all choppy with this. Is it something set in the configuration of the wrapper, or is it something they did to the executable?
Sure. I had to do a mock-up becasue fraps only captures 640x480 frames with correct aspect ratio.

01 is centered, 02 is stretched. Both suck :)

How do you get the game to run in a window? I told the patch launcher to run in a DirectX window, but it still runs fullscreen only. What else do I need to do?

So yeah, we have figured out the patch does not work on XP. Can you not get JK to work on its own on XP. When i ran XP i easily got JK working with a GTX 550 Ti.

Make sure you selected the right folder at the top of the controlpanel. Also ingame you have to choose a resolution lower than your monitors native one or the window will fill the entire screen.
