GErecODeMMingG: Even without the German Language Page, just JKE, JKR jkhud & jkgui i still dont have any music after leaving the bar,

& the music patch was already implemented by GOG.

jnisbet: Have you tried renaming JK.exe to something else (like JediKnight.exe) yet?
That doesnt help either.

You might re-install the game and try to get music working before adding your mods. Perhaps one of those mods is breaking it. I successfully added JKE and JKR after I'd already gotten music working, but I haven't used the other two mods that you mentioned.
Also, please check filenames in the music folder. Travis (Gog) Ogg wrapper uses filenames in the range: track02.ogg to track22.ogg, some older wrappers (Steam) uses different range (by 10, exactly) - track12.ogg to track32.ogg.
this game need to be fixed with audiere not winmm! Winmm (no update since 2009!) and any other game that uses it are broken thanks to the win10 creator update...
Anybody know anything about this http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=756&section=downloads
If you're having trouble getting music working (and you've already renamed JK.exe), especially if you've applied the German language pack, try the following fixed wrapper:

https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/914-jedi-knight-dark-forces-ii-mots-music-wrapper/

That's the winmm.dll that comes with versions 2.0.0.5 and greater of the GOG releases of JK and MotS. Unlike the music wrapper linked earlier in this thread, the German language pack works with it. There might be other compatibility improvements, as well. Rather than re-download and re-install the game, you can just download this one small file to patch your game.

I've verified that it works in Windows 10 64-bit with both games and with and without the unofficial patches, the German language pack, the most popular mods and enhancements, the LOD hack, higher quality music and so on. Volume control also works with it.

hi, this patch worked only once, with JK2 the music works until the end then does not start/repeat even after save and reload, with Mots it works but when the music is endend it dosen't restart, but it starts again after save and load

By "the end," do you mean after the game has gone through ALL of the tracks, all 44 minutes of them in JK's case? That's something that I didn't test. If so, then I guess that that's largely what Tarvis fixed in his winmm_win10.zip version and that neither wrapper is perfect. At least those of you who can't get music with that version can get it with the version that I linked, even if you have to exit out of the game and re-launch every now and then.

Edit: I've updated the package to make Tarvis' solution the default. The other winmm.dll is now named winmm_alternate.dll and the instructions tell users to rename it if the first doesn't work for them.

Because of the issues with the earlier LOD mod (some documented in this thread), I decided to see if I could create one that didn't have those issues and I ended up being successful. For lack of a better name, I've called it the High Detail Mod and it works with both the main game and Mysteries of the Sith.

It essentially does the same thing as the earlier LOD mod, which is patch the games' levels to use only the highest quality textures and models at all times, instead of using lower quality ones when they're further away (which produces unsightly transitions as you approach them). See the attached screenshot for a before and after comparison.

The biggest difference from the earlier mod is that it's compatible with existing save games, so you don't have to start a new game to use it. Another difference is that it's compatible with non-English installations and language packs, since it doesn't replace the files that hold the language strings. A third is that it patches the multiplayer levels, as well, if anyone still plays the game in multiplayer. As a bonus, I also patched and included the secret/bonus level for Mysteries of the Sith and Marc Sauve's "Special Edition" of it (in which he replaced the boss with Vader).

For those hesitant because of the issues with the earlier LOD mod, this one should be free of them. As I said, earlier save games and non-English languages are compatible. Also, I tweaked only the headers of the original level files (and did so with batch operations to ensure no errors), leaving them with exactly the same size and content (not 30% smaller), so there shouldn't be any issues from level to level. Even if you were to have one, though, you could simply uninstall the mod and continue your game without it, since the save games are compatible.

Anyways, here is the link, which also includes a bit more information:

The music looping fix doesn't work. Even that mysterious "rename your executable" fix does nothing. I don't have to quit to the menu in order to get it to loop, I just have to stand still and the music starts back up. Pretty annoying and I can't even imagine what kind of a programming brainfart could produce a glitch with such a ridiculous temporary workaround.

Hey all!

You can find an interesting fix for JK here:

http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=830

The authors description:

Adds Lightsaber 'hum' effect, Lightsaber 'off sound' when Dark Jedi are defeated, Force Persuasion sound for Yun & Pic, Force Grip for Gorc & Maw, Force Speed sound for Maw when in faster 'charge!' mode, Force Jump sound for Yun & Sariss. Also adds volume to Qu Rahn's voice (Level 11), "Mission Objective Completed!" sound when Yun is defeated (Level 7).
