I can tell you what the problem is. The Mod probably includes some fixes for issues that Vanilla Jedi Knight has with modern computers. GOG put fixes for these issues in their version, and when you install the mod, there is a conflict between the fixes.

Hi,
If that's the point, I can't understand why the mod works for others using the GOG-version of the game. Or am I wrong?

I have this kind of problems because I'm still on XP. Thanks to the community's help I was able to make MotS run with hardware acceleration and enhanched models (Wine3D + MotS Enhanched work like a charm) but for some reason DF2 doesn't allow to use Wine3D with any unofficial patch (unofficial patch alone doesn't fix hardware acceleration for me and Wine3D without the patch results in 'Cannot load a level' on level loading.

Novotnus: Looks like step 1 can't be replaced by Wine3D :(
Surprisingly MotS loads a level with JKE active but it's pretty surreal :)
avatar
opeter2: For MotS, there is another patch. Dont use JKE!!!

Use this:
Mysteries of the Sith Enhanced

http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=570§ion=downloads

However, there is in the works also another, similar mod, so we should look at it in the future:
http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=692

The future is bright for the Jedi Knight.
I looked through my old downloads, and I actually have this instead of MotSE:

http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=485&section=downloads

Which is the mod I believe your second link is using as his base. I also found this, which is the retexture mod adjusted for MotS:

http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=660&section=downloads

I haven't had a chance to test them with the GOG version yet. Just FYI's if you end up adding extra links to the OP.

opeter2: Ah, sorry ... I don't have any other ideas. Just a last question: do you have an nVidia graphic card?
For me, I have a AMD Radeon
avatar
vDub: These aren't working as they're supposed to.

I installed the patch and followed the instructions, but with the graphic patches installed there is noticeable input & display lag.

With the mods installed, the textures are all wrong (someone mentioned this issue in an earlier posting, complete with screenshots) and if you try using the mods without the graphic patches, the levels fail to load (I was experimenting to figure out how I could possibly use the mods without the graphic patches because of the lag issue).
avatar
Whodares: I had this issue. Are you loading a saved game or starting a new game when you install the mods?

When I tried loading a saved game, I had that issue, but once I started a new game, the texture issues were gone. Hope this helps.
I was starting a new game

I believe I managed to solve the problem.

After following the directions in the original post, the menus are still a bit wonky because of the graphic patches (there's still some delay) but the OP needs to be changed so that when you extract the retexture mod (JKR.gob), the file actually goes into the game's Resource folder (as instructed in the readme file for the mod) NOT the same folder as the JK Enhanced mod (JKE.gob).

Once that's done, the textures should be as they are and the game looks a lot better because of it.

OK, I can ad this post to the first post in this theme.

I've tested the game on Vista 64 and Win 7 64 and tried to use the mods as described above. On both systems it's the same error. The "vanilla"-hardware acceleration works without problems.
I have the following .dll files in my JK directory:

- D3DImm.dll
- DDraw.dll
- dgVoodoo.conf1
- JK_.CD
- JK-Extension.dll
- JK.dll
- JK.EXE (I think, that this is the modified version by JKDF2.net, not sure)

You have to extract all the files, you can find in the can be read here.

The files added by GOG:

- goggame-1422286819.dll
- goggame-1422286819.hashdb
- goggame-1422286819.ico
- goggame-1422286819.info
- goggame.sdb
- GOGLauncher.exe
- goglog.ini
A minor quibble that bugs me a little bit.....you do realize the word is enhanced, not "enhanched", right?

Ok, thanks, will change the title. English is not my native language, sorry ...

EDIT: I did corrected the words in the post, but sadly cannot change/edit the title.

Drosa: The problems I saw was chaos. My screen would go completely crazy making it nearly impossible to see what was going on. This problem transferred to Windows when the game was shut down.

All of the problem I had with Jedi Knight disappeared when I added JK.dll from jkdf2.net/JKBot/JKArchive/JKDF2/Game%20Files/tools/PATCH/jkultimate15.zip.
Unfortunately, I followed the guide in OP and also this tip but still my textures are all messed up :(

EDIT:
I've managed to solve it. Here is what I did:
1. I have folder called 'mod' with JKE, JKE.dll and JK-Extension.dll in main JK folder.
2. I've moved the JKR.gob file from mod folder to Resource folder.
3. I've started a fresh game, when loading savegame the graphics were still messed up.

Still no solution for Wolfram's problem? I got the same issue. After using the ddraw fix, vanilla hardware accelleration works with no issues in 1920x1080 resolution. When I follow the instructions of this thread with the Enhanced mod, however, I get a "Could not load level" message.

I have the .gob file in a folder called Mods, and have added ' -path Mod' to my shortcut Destination.

Anyone got a clue?
Nevermind, I found the solution!

For some reason I did not have those files in my folder, maybe a faulty extraction? Anyway it's working now, thanks!
I could use some help with an issue I have been having,I don't need to use the Ultimate Patch or the AMD fix which is surprising considering I am using an AMD card using Catalyst 13.9 drivers and still enable 3D acceleration with no problem and flicker fix works. But if I just use the part of the ultimate patch that contains the unofficial patch it borks my installation and I can't install the versions of the unofficial patch on JKhub cause those also bork my install and I end up losing the fix GOG made. This causes a problem if I can't patch my game with the unofficial patches I can't use JKE.I have had to reinstall my disk version to play this game with these excellent mods.Does anyone know what could be causing this issues and how to fix them so I can use the GOG Version especially since switch the cd's out can be a real pain. Also do you know of a mod the makes the hud bigger at higher resolutions
