OK, finally got it working!

JEDI KNIGHT ENHANCED MOD - installation tutorial

1.) Install the patch you can find in the first post:

1./A (optional)
If you will have problems, try to extract JK.dll from jkultimate15.zip from here (but you should have already done that with the patch above):

For instructions, go here: post #20 by Drosa.

2.) Then do the following:

Download JKE Mod from here:
http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=242§ion=downloads

Choose
JK_Enhanced.zip - 1.0 - 39,988 KB - 2007-01-31 19:58:47

3.) open with your favorite extractor (mine is the free/opensource 7zip) and extract/copy the JKE.gob from the JKE folder to your game installation folder, but before that make a folder, let's say ... Mod

default is:
C:\GOG Games\Star Wars Jedi Knight - Dark Forces 2

4.) Now make an shortcut from JK.EXE and put it on your desktop (if you like, you can later choose the GOG icon, so that it will look nice)

5.) now right click on your alias and choose "shortcut" tab and find the first line, where it says the following:
"C:\GOG Games\Star Wars Jedi Knight - Dark Forces 2\JK.EXE"

add -path Mod at the end

Look at this screenshot:

Press Apply and OK.

6.) now, try to run the game and change the resolution to whatever you want, but don't forget to turn on 3D acceleration if it isn't already turned on.

7.) If you want even better textures, download this mod:

... extract JKR.gob to the Mod folder and just run your shortcut on the desktop.

This doesn't work. It even seems that the patch destroyed the fixes gog did and now it's the same crap as the steam version...

EDIT: i probably got the patch to work.

Possible things I am doing wrong:

1) do i put the enhanced gob in the Mod folder or in the is the installation folder where JK.exe is located?? And I just don't use the other files?

2) shortcut path: what do I add exactly? -Mod or -Path Mod, neither makes JK enhanced or the texture pack work... I even makes the shortcut not work...

Sorry, I was away from computer.

1.) put the *.gob file into a folder inside you installation folder of DF II: JK

like: C:\GOG Games\Star Wars Jedi Knight - Dark Forces 2\MOD*

It actually doesn't matter, what folder name you choose, it can be even NEWFOLDER or whatever.

What it matters is, that you add -path NEWFOLDER to the JK.EXE shortcut

They don't allow images on the gog forums. Perhaps to help curb abuse.

Edit: Also, wasn't there a way to use either the enhanced or retexture pack (or both?) with MOTS? Have you tried that yet? Also, what about other mods like Glowsaber X and The Force Within?

Just use the JKE.gob file, nothing else.

Final questions: where do I put the gob file and does the patch also make your fmv's stutter?
Make a MOD folder in your JK directory, put your GOB files into that MOD folder and then add "-path MOD" to the JK shortcut.

Not yet (the answer for MOTS question). Also didn't try the Glowsaber X and The Force Within mod.

Fortunately you can use more mods together. Just put them into the folder you are using for your mods. Sometimes they do co-operate, sometimes they don't (game crash, etc.)

However right now, I have two mods installed, the JKE + texture mod.

I will soon post a video, how it looks like in "action".

HOW did you do that?

menu in 4:3 , gameplay in 16:9 with dgvoodoo. Tell me...you have to :)
Look up at my first post for instruction under No. 1.

So you need to install the patch, that was made by the guys at jkdf2.net

I think, the same instrucions should work for MOTS (+ mods also)

I'm not sure we understand each other :)

I do use dgvoodoo. I'm concerned about the aspect ratio.

I just tried a FRAPS capture and it looked like yours. 4:3 menu and 16:9 gameplay. Sadly that was NOT what I could see while playing :/

what does the 3D accelerator min texture size do? Gog version puts it at 1 but i see yours is at 128

Menues are very small. still playable so not that big of an issue but would like to fix if possible.

the textures are all wonky and in the wrong place.
theyre High Res, but the walls and such are flat colors, or incorrect textures.
