Perfect. I edited the first post, added your link and, of course, credited you.
Aside from the poor quality of the GoG tracks... (esp #32)

The track naming is also rather unusual - not sure what they were thinking of there.

Track 1 is obviously the data track but why the jump to 12 and 22 instead of 19?

#12 -> #18 (DF CD1)
#22 -> #32 (DF CD2)
#2 -> #14 (MOTS)

Worse, at least on my machine, the music doesn't always appear to loop as it should. I've noticed this is a problem for Windows 7 users.

I thought GoG may've fixed it - does anyone else have this problem? (going into the setup menu will restart the music)

Aside from that I've been listening to the music really carefully from my original CD's

I've noticed quite a few clicks / glitches which are encoded into the tracks themselves! =(

At first I thought it was my CD's but it appears to be widespread - possibly a production fault.

Listen to the click at 1:53 approx:

And another small switch sound at 3:25 approx.

It's a bit OCD but I may rip the tracks to Wave and run them through Audacity to try and eliminate the errors.

I can then convert to FLAC and Vorbis respectively.

It's great to play this game again after many years - I think I even prefer it to the sequels.

I'm just guessing but I believe it is meant like this:

track12.ogg means disc 1, track 2 (because track 1 is the data track)

track 22.ogg means disc 2, track 2 (again, track 1 is the data track)

Now it gets funny. If I'm right they realised after track29.ogg, that there are more than 8 music tracks on disc 2. So they went on with track30.ogg.

Regarding the little click sound: Yes, I can hear it but I wouldn't bother. While playing the game you definitely can NOT hear that :)

I don't think you need to separately rip the MotS tracks. They are just selected tracks from Jedi Knight.

Anyway, the numbering is definitely because of there being 2 discs.

I made the Steam patch, and I also did a similar numbering scheme (except doing 02 for Disc 1 and 12 for Disc 2) since I altered level scripts to play the correct track. This allows all tracks from both CDs to be loaded as one "disc" per se, only the disc 2 levels had to be modified to play the new track numbers. I suspect this is what GoG did as well. The numbering scheme makes it easy to change the track number to the new one.

Is there an Episode/JK1 folder? What's in it? Anything other than .GOB files, that is.

The hitches have always bugged me. If it's possible for you to fix them, that'd be great and really appreciated. :)

It's quite possible - now that I've had a play with Adobe Audition CC.

Here's a little taster of what I've been fiddling with ;)

My intention is to get through the whole soundtrack - eventually oO

Thankfully the MOTS music is just a smaller selection of renamed files.

No funny tricks or other stuff.

Just a bit of auto healing and/or small amplification changes & static noise removal.

I'm aiming for transparency between this and the originals.

Hopefully you all shouldn't hear any negative differences.

Another one finished.

Track 13: The Lost Disk

Listen to me!

Lots of glitches in this one, damaged areas and a bunch of static.

It's much better now.

I'm trying to do at least 1 track per day, depending on the severity of the damage.

Thanks, it sounds much better.
Two more to have a listen to:

Track 27 (#16 Descent Into the Valley / The Valley of the Jedi )

Listen to me!

Track 32 (#18 JEREC - The Force Within; JEREC - A Battle for Power )

Listen to me!

The metadata track numbering is ordered by the first time the track is heard - the actual file names are unchanged.

The track title is the game level(s) the track is first heard on when starting a level.

21 game levels and 18 tracks; MOTS just uses the same files.

The pink glow in the pictures represents the static - if anyone is wondering.
