GOG chose to encode the cd audio track to 192 kb/s ogg files. Besides the fact, that there is no reason today not to use 320 kb/s files, they also included a few tracks with distortions (especially track 32.ogg).
Until GOG fixes this, this thread offers 320 kb/s music files for both the main game "Jedi Knight" encoded by myself and the expansion "Mysteries of the Sith", thanks to octiceps:

How to use them:
Simply extract the ogg files into your MUSIC folder, which is in your Jedi Knight game folder, and overwrite the existing files.
Enjoy :)
ORIGINAL POST:
The gog version has all music files as ogg files with 192kb/s.
Sadly they have been ripped without quality control. Especially the last track (track 32) has a lot of distortions. Others have this as well.
These definitely have to be improved. And while doing it please provide a higher bitrate. Size does not matter any more so we should use all the quality the original discs have to offer.
I will send this to the GOG service staff as well.
PS: I'm wondering why nobody noticed this before. But then, sound has always been the stepchild of gaming. Graphics first... :/
EDIT:
I cannot wait so I grapped my original discs and did a new rip myself. I converted them to wav and then to 320kb/s ogg files. They are now about 100 MB in size but I believe that size should not matter any more these days when new games can have 30 GB and more.
Just download the archive, decompress the music folder (named "MUSIC") into your JK game folder and overwrite the old one. There you are: Music without distortions. To be fair: Only a few files in the GOG release had issues but now all files, issues or not, have better quality. For those who have the equipment to actually hear it. Im looking at YOU, laptop user with lousy speakers ;)
