Why won't the game start when I use the shortcut?

The shortcut is for Gog's SWB2Launcher.exe. Gog's launcher crashes. This was not a problem until this latest update which I applied when I reinstalled the game today.

Why not just make a new shortcut for the game using the main executable to do so

Yes I have done that but I want to know why Gog's launcher crashes. Is Gog's launcher needed for anything, why does it exist?

I'm not really sure because I don't have the gog version of the game. I have it on Steam and disk version. My advice to you would be to contact support as I'm sure it's an issue they've encountered before
