We need a refund. Or we will sue GOG.

How do I ask for a refund?

I agree with you
I'm embarrassed to be apart of a community that is so overly critical of a company who went out of their way to bring back multiplayer to a game when they didn't have to. People can be so ungrateful of things without even doing their research. Contrary to popular belief, they are actually working on a fix to the problems people have been experiencing and should have them fixed by around mid-November. Keep in mind, they probably aren't able to reasonably fix some issues that involve crashing because these are usually caused by your audio drivers.
To be clear here, they brought back (or will bring back as it stands) the 'official' multiplayer. But there are already working unoffical ways to play the multiplayer. So it seems unreasonable that they need about two months to fix something that was barely broken to begin with - or at least already fixed by the community. But GOG decided to announce it as the next big thing and then shot themselves in the foot. I feel like the critic is reasonable though often a bit offensive worded.

Yes, GOG didn't have to bring it back. And in hindsight they shouldn't either. Next time they maybe hold back until it is working like the customer would expect it.
Damn straight. Only reason I bought this old game is because GOG advertised it as having multiplayer working again. Dafuq..
I would have prefered GOG to leave it alone rather than completely kill the multiplayer base by a non working patch imo.
What the GOG team doing has no effect on the existing Battlefront 2 community. I've seen they included the old version of BF2 separatelly from the new multiplayer patched one, this mean it can work like the original. I play with my friends on LAN, and one of my friends (who is a hardcore Star Wars fan) plays the old way till GOG not fix the problem.

Keep calm, this game shouldn't have a multiplayer patch at the first place yet some people trying to make it happen, bringing back the official multiplayer. If you want to sue someone, then fight with Steam for removing even the LAN option from most of their games in order to force the users to play on Steam network.
