I'm not a huge of SFC, but it is one of the more "modern" Trek games... so seeing it on GOG does that mean we can expect to see more Trek games this year? Like Klingon Academy, Armada 1 and Armada 2, Dominion Wars, etc., etc.?

Because that would be AWESOME.
+1 it would be.

IIRC Dominion wars had bug with resolutions over 1600x which I hope they can fix, but I'd love Armada and Bridge Commander.
I hope so, I'm personally holding out hope for Star Trek : Birth of the Federation!
I looked at Interplay's website today and it looks like they are all-in regarding the Trek games it still has licenses to. I think we can most certainly expect more releases. :)
I hope for Starfleet Command 3 ... but thats Activision :/

The original cd version still works on Windows 7, not sure about windows 8 though.
It wouldn't be unreasonable to think so. Personally I'm holding out for Bridge Commander.
The Interplay Trek games are probably all onboard.
the Activision games are a different story due to the messed up licencing issues.
I am pretty sure BOTF can be found as free version at the Internet, as it has been added as free content to several game magazines. And there are also compatibility patches for the newer win versions. Just ask Mr. Google about it.

PS: I also recommend to look for the high-res mods for BOTF.
You can download BoTF installer and many mods here

As mentioned at the webpage, you should own the original CD.

The Ultimate Dominion MOD is really good. Replacing Ferengi (making Ferengi a minor race) with Dominion and adding all their ships. Plus the Excelsior for the Federation :-) Oh and you can build minor species ships too. Having Vulcan cruisers at the beginning of the game is really helpful :-)

I personaly hope for the Bridge Commander with a widescreen support and Dominion Wars. I am not a fan of Armada and Armada 2. Generic RTS with totaly uncannon ship behavior is not my cup of tea.

I would love to play Star Trek Armada again, i love that game, but they really do need to upgrade it to work on 16x9...i mean the graphics can stay the same, but i want my 1920x1080 resolution.

This one might help you getting Dominion Wars to run:

+1 agree!

Would like to see this start stocking ALL of them (more or less).

Trekkie from boyhood, but never played any of the games. Like SFC1 but would like more (armada, and birth of federation sound interesting). Seems there are few good places to buy these old gems, unless you want to pay $250 for an original DVD box from a seller on Amazon or EBay.

"you should own the original CD" . . . So, like I said, seems the only way to acquire the original game is to buy it for a hugely inflated price from a seller on Amazon or EBay.

Thus: HUGE opportunity for GOG!

True. Meanwhile, there are other ways of obtaining them, and basically nobody can pursue you about it because of licensing hell ;)
