Anyone recently installed this? I just did (for the very first time, didn't play it back then) and have stumbled across two major issues: I have no in-game mouse control, meaning that the cursor does not move, when I move my mouse. Just keyboard controls are working which is a real pain. Second problem is that there are no voices in the game, just the text screens. Odd, because I just finished playing "25th Anniversary", also the GOG-release, and everything worked out fine without me having to adjust anything or something like that.

I just can't seem to find any solution for this (I'm not a pro with computers, mind).

This is the Problem with the INTRPLAY.CFG located in the app diretory ..\Star Trek - Judgment Rites\DEUTSCH or any language.

You have to do the setup.exe in dosbox to override the configuration, because it is set only to keyboard. Switch it to keyboard an mouse and it works.

Also quite late, but I had the same "issue". Turned out that I installed in non-english, but only english version comes with audio voice and that version also properly runs with mouse control because you get to configure that on first start.
Thx all. To install the english version solved all problems. Should have done this in the first place - on the other hand I didn't realize that the game automatically installed thw german version.

Anyways: Great game!
A little bit late but for others that search a solution:

edit the

dosbox_stjr_single.conf

replace rites with setup

start choose keyboard and mouse control and choose soundcard and then play, after play replace setup with rites.

gog have forgot to made an setup.conf and lnk
I'm German and I have the same problem. The solution from TheKaoBln above worked for the mouse issue but I'm missing the English speech. It seems like the speech files have not been installed because the game is only 50 MB small on the disc (compared to 650 MB which the 25th Anniversary game has). Seems like I have to install the game now somehow in English.

This is really a shame. I have my games usually on Steam but for olde games I preferred GOG up to now because I do NOT want to care about compatibility, fiddle around with configuration files or install something on top. GOG usually took care about that and maintained the games. But while Star Trek: 25th Anniversary is configured correctly and worked perfectly right from the start, this is not true for Judgment Rites.

There never existed any version with German text AND audio. The only German version had only text. The only version with speech was the limited edition of Judgement Rites which only existed inn English. So you blame GOG for not creatimg a version of the game that never existed in this way. GOG did what they coul and offered the German disk version (no speech) and the English version with text and speech - the limited edition.
