Playing the single palyer campaign with mods (for example for upgrading the graphics) can seriously damage the campaign. This modder claims that his collection is tested and compatible with the SP campaign. Definitely worth testing. The link is in the video description. The package includes upgraded ships, bridges, sounds and widescreen.

I have NOT fully tested it yet.
Well, I'll certainly give it a try.
Looked for the mission that other mods completely fucked up, the one where you have to defend Biranu Station, and it seems to play like intended: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmgJsL8Xlt8

Avoiding that issue is what gets my seal of approval. Now if only the ship registry textures weren't of the Enterprise :D

I tried it last night, it wasn't working very well. Trying to pause the game, and the UI would glitch out. I wonder if the upgrade that GOG did to get it to run on modern PC's somewhow conflicts with something in the mod?

GOG changed the game in no way other than removing the disc check.

I didn't have any problems playing this mod, but I would suggest that you contact the mod author (VonFrank42) on BC-Central or Discord. He can certainly help you the best.
This is a great mod which resolves many of the issues with the original game as released by GOG.

One issue I seem to be encountering is with the mouse cursor. I'm either unable to use my mouse and have to use the keyboard instead (on the main menus and in ship combat), or I can use the mouse when viewing the bridge, but the sensitivity is far too high.

Has anyone else come across these mouse issues and found a resolution? Cheers! :-)

I have same problems ;/
The developer is working currently on a patch, I will forward your problems to him.
While they're at it, they should fix the registry locations (all of them, nacelle and saucer segments) of the Nebula class, which are wrongly assigned.

This is great news, please extend our thanks to the developer for their efforts!

I was afraid that Bridge Commander had long been forgotten and dropped by mod developers. I hoped that GOG would release a version of the game ready to play out of the box and optimised for Windows 10, modern display resolutions, and with performance improvements proportionate to the advances in CPU/GPU/RAM since the original release (all graphics settings turned to MAX, with the abillity to launch vast space battles with many ships and minimal or no drop in frame rate).

It's fantastic to see tha the MODS can still be used with the game, as they massively improved the playability and fun factor of the original game!

I'm still not aware of any game that has come along since ST:BC that offers the same level of control over the ship during missions/battles. I love the ability to divert power priority to different systems, target enemy subsystems during battles, see localised damage to the ships where they take hits, plus rotating the ship to take damage on fresh shields, etc.

If there are other games out there with this level of simulated ship control, then they are definitely not Star Trek games (I think I'd be aware of anything out there).

Hi everyone! I'm the creator of the BC Remastered mod.

Big thanks to Capt.Sisko for answering some of the questions here, and also passing along knowledge of this thread!

As Capt.Sisko said, I'm currently working on the next release version of this mod. V 1.1 will include many bug fixes as well as new ships and features. It will also (hopefully) be easier to install than the previous version.

As for some of the issues listed here so far:

Kraznova: I havent heard of this issue before. Can you be more specific about what happens? Also, does it happen in the base game or just with my mod?

LukeToyer: I have heard of mouse problems with BC in the past. Usually they are tough to narrow down and fix. Does it happen without my mod installed as well?

Plokite_Wolf: This is not a bug, but it is something I do want to correct if I am able. The issue here is creating brand new texture sheets for each ship registry. The original authors of each ship don't always make multiple registry textures, so I will have to create them from scratch. Not impossible, but definitely time consuming.

Glad to see people are enjoying the mod so far! I will post the link to the next version here when it is released. Probably on either Nexus mods or Gamefront.

Hello! I was wondering, do you plan on improving the phaser arcs to make them a bit more canonical?
I have the BC Supermod 3.0 but its horribly unstable, but the improved phaser arcs make the game so much more immersive.
I would love to see something similar implemented in this mod of yours.
I've been trying to make a phaser arc mod myself but I'm such a novice I simply cant make any progress using the mod editors...
Cheers!

Making ships look and preform more canonical is the main goal of the mod. This includes an accurate set of phaser and torpedo loadouts for each ship.

Unlike vanilla Bridge Commander which has the same boring 8 phaser arrangement on the Akira, Nebula, Galaxy, and Sovereign, the Remastered mod puts a phaser on each array on the physical hull, with matching arcs. You'll find it to be quite immersive.
