So I've been running Armada II in GoG for I think a couple of years now with no problems. Suddenly, it's started throwing the following error on startup:

Graphics initialization failed. No compatible Direct3D8 hardware accelerator detected.

GoG runs DirectX 8 in a wrapper of some sort if memory serves. Has that suddenly broken? I tried repairing the install as well as dropping in the 1.2.5 patch, but Armada 2 is still throwing the same error...

So, somehow this bug fixed itself a few days after it first manifested back in November, but now it's happening again here in March. Anyone have any idea what could be causing it? I tried rebooting but that didn't seem to make any difference.

Oh, one more thing - I have Armada 1, and it's running fine. No issues.

Aaaaan, now it's fixed itself. Again.

I was having trouble trying to run AMD's Adrenaline software so I reinstalled it, but that didn't seem to fix the problem. Neither did a couple of reboots. But tonight Armada 2 is running normally again. No idea what broke, or what fixed it.
