It's gone very quiet on the star trek armada front, so its making me think that it won't be released as i reckon they are having issues and can't get it to work properly is my guess

The 20th anniversary for the sequel is in three days. Maybe...

GOG does not tend to make a lot of noise about their upcoming releases. They prefer to not amp up everybody's expectations, then leave everyone frustrated when those expectations aren't met in a timely manner, hence why upcoming games are always listed as "TBA" or "SOON", rather than a firm date. When the game is ready, they will release it and are not likely to say anything until that happens. In the unlikely event that they cannot get an announced game to work, they are very open about letting us know, but that has only happened maybe one or two times, at most. Usually if a game has already been announced, you can be fairly certain they already have the game in a basic working state, they just needed to fine tune the performance to an acceptable level before final release.

I thought maybe the 11th oct was the date. Or maybe the 16th.

My fear is that they are discovering just how unstable the game was even in the operating system it was designed to run on - as much as I loved playing this game, it had some pretty severe stability issues.

Obviously, I am hoping that these issues are either discovered and addressed, or sidestepped entirely by using different/new code, but I fear that this is the reason for the delay, and without any word from the developers it is hard to believe otherwise.

I am keeping my fingers crossed; it's been entirely too long since I got to overwhelm an enemy fleet with a teleporter chain leading across a whole map.

Well when the armada games are released ,I'd hope that people do some of the basics first like updating their drivers etc.

Maybe read the forums first and see if some one else had the issue and already has a fix so they could try that before making a thread.

Personally i think some people have a lot going on with their computers these days so it makes it a bit hard to have stable games, Having more than one monitor or recording the game while playing, Or has music playing on their computer in the background or downloads in the background etc etc.

I know computers are multi purpose these days but in the old days that wasn't necessarily the case.

When you said more than 1 monitor, you do remember armada was one of the first dual monitor games out yea? You could set it up so all the 3d viewer battles were fullscreen on ur 2nd monitor while the main was the main game.

I actually wonder if thats still in when it comes back out.

Builds for Armada 1 and 2 were added today according to gogdb, so the release is probably not far away
